Greetings all!
I just wanted to be sure we are all on the same page as for what can and can not allow when posting links.
Obviously absolutely no links to a site that has adult content. That includes ones that use adult language. For example, we had to cut a link to a site that contained a picture of scooby with a phrase using the F-bomb (among other "greater than PG-13" concepts). We need to maintain that this is a family friendly site, and that extends to what we connect to.
No direct links to illegal uploads...unfortunately that means no direct links to "watch cartoons online" and similar sites or even YouTube (unless WB or CN directly posted it themselves).
Not only is it a legal grey area we do not want to get involved with, it's also disrespectful and financially hurtful to the people who make/produce Scooby programming. If they themselves post a direct link, then its ok to repost their link. Otherwise, members can PM the links in private. It's ok to post something semi-vage like "this episode is now on the watch cartoons site" or "you can search YouTube for it", but again, please no direct links.
Also, please no links to advertisements, shops, or retailers that have nothing to do with Scooby-Doo (unless there is a strong relevancy to a topic or conversation)....basically, no spam.
Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause.
ADDENDUM 5/15/14
Limited run unofficial shirts/products: A popular trend these days is for sites to offer a "limited edition" t-shirt (or other printable products) for 24 hours that uses imagery that for the most part just skirts around copy right and licensing laws. (Some sites blatantly don't avoid those laws). Going forward when these type of products do pop up that relate to Scooby-Doo, we ask that you post a picture of the shirt or imagery as "fan art" and mention WITHOUT A LINK that it's available on such-and-such website "today". (If you do not wish to post an image, you can simply say "a Scooby fan art shirt is on *whatever* site today".)
