As a gamer, I certainly find myself enjoying this movie and its unique plot. It's Grey DeLisle's only decent performance as Daphne as she was imitating Bergman's voice. I loved seeing all of the old villains again and having the gang work with their old Cyber counterparts. (Velma certainly hasn't changed her style much as she grew older!) As BJ Ward's final performance as Velma in the movies, she did an excellent job, just as she did in her previous Velma roles. Overall, a great movie, and one of WB's last good Scooby incarnations. It's a shame they threw away this timeline for "What's New".

The comeback of the villains in the last level was fantastic!! The movie overall was great too. And since technology has improved so much, maybe we should see a new DTV with a ghost hacker, LOL...

Yeah, a Tron-like spin off. Interesting to note that PBS had a math-adventure show called CyberChase as well. I really remember the music more than anything. One of the last "classic" scooby full movies in my 24-year-old opinion. After this, they sort of changed. More romance and stuff.

Cyber Chase! YES! My favorite Scooby movie ever. So good of a monster, decent but not very good mystery, excellent plot, it has everything I want. Always wanted to see a second one.

Does Scooby-Doo ever had a red collar? I haven't seen the movies of the late 1980, so i can have missed it.

Cyber Chase is the best movie in the franchise! I love the concept, the characters and they go and meet their former selves! What is not to like about the classic? It's fun, superb and just brilliant!

Still had a Barnes & Noble gift card leftover since my birthday and decided to finally go and spend it this past weekend. They had all 4 of the Mook Animation DTV Scooby films on DVD, and I just couldn't pass them up! The last time I'd seen any of these was on VHS (Alien Invaders being one of, if not the last film, I ever watched before retiring the VHS player), so, I was tepidly excited to watch them all again.
I was always a big fan of WNSD (probably still my favorite Post-SDWAY version of the show, if not neck-and-neck with TNSDM) and the animation this time around seemed very similar. Clearly, they sort-of faded into doing the WNSD art style as these films went along and certain shots in this would certainly fool even the most hardcore Scooby fan into thinking they're from a WNSD episode. That being said, I consider this a double edged sword. The shadows and highlights of Zombie Island really added depth to ever character, making them feel almost lifelike. Here, aside from when the gang is huddled around a campfire in a cave (and the one underwater sequence) the film just looked sort of flat - which is unfortunate, as I could tell the resolution had been improved on this film greatly. (Hasn't it been released on Blu-ray too or something?)
WNSD, while a great show IMO, pales in comparison to the visual stylings of these Mook animated DTVs. Understandable as WNSD was all animated in the computer, and being a TV series was on a different schedule, but still. Cyber Chase, while still visually rich and interesting, just pales in comparison to the previous three - especially after back-to-back viewings.
I did really enjoy the plot, however. And, while I wish more attention could have been put on providing clues for the audience to figure out the mystery for themselves (aside from just a few lines uttered by the Phantom Virus) the film already runs a bit long - and it feels like it. Although I liked the attention to detail of showing a montage of every level/stage of the video game, I feel like one could very easily edit this down into a 30 minute WNSD-like episode and, although a lot of plot and cool moments might be cut down or scrapped, the audience would be none the wiser.
Don't get me wrong, though, I still really enjoyed this one. Although I haven't watched Legend of the Vampire and Monster of Mexico in years either, I bet I'd place them even if not slightly higher than Cyber Chase now that I come to think of it. Although this 90's early 00's cast is perhaps my favorite (outside of the originals, of course) it was so great to have the original* cast back together in two DTVs. If only those could have continued on just a bit longer as well.
I'll probably end up re-watching this one the least of the 4 Mook films, but hey, it's still a great Scooby adventure - AND fun for the whole family. Even if, as an adult, the Phantom Virus's weakness makes him seem a bit weak in comparison to the villains of the other films.
I mean, if they'd just all ran at him with magnets in the very beginning, this whole thing could have been avoided! (Albeit, with the culprit behind it all unknown...)
Anybody got anything else to add?

What a nostalgic classic! I used to watch this one so much and it is one of the best in general. Much lighter than the other Mook films but I love it for that. Have a hard time choosing between this and Witch's ghost for my 3rd favorite Scooby movie

So I just re-bought this the other day as a bundle with Scooby-doo Meets the Boo Brothers as I wanted to watch the latter again and had never actually owned a copy of it, only caught it on TV, and my only copy of the former was on VHS.
This was better than I remember it being to be honest. I used to think this was the weakest of the "fab 4" movies but now I'm of the mind that it is actually on par with the others, if not better than one or two.
This movie really did well with the phantom virus and mixing real threat with bad-guy-in-a-mask elements much better than Alien Invaders. (IMO, of course.)
Such a treat to watch this again after so many years.
