A Scooby Doo Murder Mystery (of course, no one would actually be murdered, it would all be a game in the end or something.)

I'd like something where they are a bit older, out of school and in college/university. More SD:MI style intensity but with the animation style of the current movies. It could be fun to give Velma an off-screen boyfriend/partner whom she is on the phone to at inopportune moments but who can provide additional help (like Danny in the X-Files) even if it is just looking up the local restaurant guide.

I would be fine with them being shown as adults (like they were in Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders, Cyber Chase, and the first two live action movies). I don't want to see anymore relationship drama anymore though. I like your idea of Velma being on the phone russm.

We are assuming there is a DTV between big top and the WWE project, right?
I would like to see them tackle a mystery in NYC. We really haven't seen the gang partake in a full adventure in such a urban densely populated environment (probably cause its a lot of work and costly to animate).

And it's not too hard, although I agree that it's probably costly. If you watch animes, a lot of the time the background people are simply uncolored, or just like people-shaped masses. I'm impressed with animes that define each background person, but it's not bothersome when they don't. There are also a lot of scenes that don't need as much going on- an alley or sewer shouldn't have people roaming in the background.
www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=xWTrKeO6r3c&NR=1 Like if you look at clips from that. The background is just grayscaled people that don't move much, and some of the shots don't have many people. Just enough for it to be realistic.
The only thing I'm unimpressed with is when the background doesn't move at all.

Tokyo was a populated area in SD and the Samurai Sword.

DTV is short for "Direct to Video", a term for any project that is made with the intent of being released for the home consumer market first. All of the animated scooby movies are examples of DTVs.

ThatRainbowGirl, yes, I have seen quite a bit of anime that expertly uses urban environments and large crowd scenes, but I can't think of any really good examples done by WB and their style of animation. Even Gotham City in various Animated Batman shows tends to be thinly populated with extra people. Can you think of what would be a good NYC based mystery/monster would be? Something that would involve the subway system, the statue of liberty, times sq, empire state building and the not-so-touristy areas? Maybe a ghost taxi or cabby as one element?

Okay, do not delve too far into non-touristy areas. It'll just get confusing, trust me.
Well, to be accurate, they'll have to start in Queens. Unless the monster is multiple things/just ridiculously huge, I think they'd maybe only hear about the monster before they enter Manhattan.
The subway could work, for sure. There are literally people who live in certain places down there (not by the tracks itself) and if you were to get off the train itself and walk, the whole system is freaking huge and gross and dark. So that would be great. Heck, they could even see it while entering the city if they use the subway instead of the bridges.
Maybe they could feature some touristy spots in the background, but unless they're going there without the monster being there (i.e. Statue of Liberty at the beginning/end or something) for parodying something else, incorporating those might be a little weird- to the locals, at least.

I know what Direct to Videos are, so I don't know why I didn't make that connection. The only thing I could think of is Direct TV.
