I loved this episode. There was a lot of great information. I noticed something in the part with the Benevolent Lodge of Mystery that I had to share with you. Notice the paper that is in midair. It is most likely clue #4. It reads "cuarto" which means fourth in a series when translated. See close-up.

Can someone explain what the keys are to me please? I've been watching the episodes, but have only been catching the middle and end parts. Thanks!!! Review: I really liked this episode. It was cool finding out how all the mystery solving groups are connected and finding out that the gang really are "chosen ones" and can put an end to the curse.(BTW I wonder what/how the heart of the jaguar can end the curse) Any thoughts? I can't wait to see today's episode!!!!!

This was a decent episode, I love the history of the previous mystery teams. I kind of wish there had been time to let Angel speak to the kids, but I guess they wanted a little bit of closure between Fred and his fake dad. Which, honestly, is more important.

This twin peaks kind of episode probably exemplifies why Cartoon Network was reluctant to rush to air the rest of the series...while I love the complexity and deeper mystery, I can't say this would hold the interest or understanding of a 10 year old.

My daughter is 9 years old, and although she is by far more intelligent than most children her age, we find your inability to give young, imaginitive, children the benefit of the doubt, to be insulting. I know you don't mean anything by it, but she really comes up with most of my theories that I write about on here, and she thinks about it all the time. I guess it depends on the child, but I cannot make excuses for Cartoon Network being so negligent and annoying in their delays and treatment of this wonderful version of Scooby Doo.

I can't wait to see today's episode!!!!! In this episode, they showed the gang discovering some of the mystery groups from the past. In these scenes there were some clues from the keys: gun - turned out to be a lighter - signifying fire? helmet - is being used by Tiny the Bull to drink from the stream - signifying water? bowl - has dirt in it from the scene in this episode - signifying earth? I am guessing that the fourth key is the paper as seen in the screen shots above.

So, today's key will be a Flute? Or do we have a Flute already from episodes back, or some other wind instrument? Or a japanese fan? Dunno.

It's on Watch Cartoons Online.
I loved the episode, and liked that the Freak returned. Quite touching when Mayor Jones said that Fred was the best part of his life.
Another part I thought was interesting was when Mayor Jones said that he came up with the costume for the Freak because El Aguirre/The Freak was haunting his dreams.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to catch today's episode, but I plan to watch it soon. Can't wait to see it though!

That floating piece of paper is "Llave cuatro", the paper found in the library in "Stand and Deliver." It's the fourth key, and the fact that it's up in the air completes the earth/air/fire/water association noted above.
If Pericles intends to unlock the sarcophagus and free his master, he will probably need the four keys. He'll be after the gang for them, while they try to find the Heart of the Jaguar, IMHO.

One other question: any theories on why some of the "good parts" appear close to the same age as their counterparts, and some are younger?
Close to same age: Mayor Jones, Cassidy Williams Younger: Ricky Owens, Danny Darrow Close to same age, but not matching latest alteration: Brad Chiles and Judy Reeves

This was such an epic episode I wonder why they bothered with Aliens Among us and Dance of the Undead. It was also good to see Scooby so keen to save Velma.

I've been wondering about this since watching the episode online the first time. I've thrown around the possibility that it's when the corruption took hold. It seems the most likely answer, but that doesn't seem to fit for Mayor Jones. It's pretty hard not to date his corruption twenty years ago when he was committing blackmail, kidnapping, theft, etc. By that reasoning he shouldn't have the gray streaks in his hair. They may have kept him looking like his present self for the Fred interaction, but it still messes with the pattern.
