I don't think it's that bad.
I also like the change in animation.

I saw this as a young kid and I was disappointed as a kid. That's pretty bad.

(sigh) Don Messick... Okay, I wasn't thrilled by the redesigned animation but it didn't bother me too much. I don't find this movie awful, it was a fine break after a tiring day for me so I guess that counts too. Though, I was definitely not as satisfied as with other Scooby movies. "Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf" that preceded this movie was clearly better. And I'm not even talking about the more recent movies. It's impossible to compare a thorough, well-plotted and well-animated film on Scooby-Doo with a sort-of-decent-movie in which Scooby and Shaggy show up 10 minutes maximum in the entire 1 hour and 10 minutes movie... The irrelevant mini movies narrated as stories were...meh... okay. It was clearly to get a cartoonish and classic twist in the movie, by adding Yogi and Boo Boo Bear and that childishly fun Pirate Captain. The Arabian Nights title intrigued me at first as well as the cover that is meant to give a bigger impression than the movie itself. I decided to give this movie a go even though I've heard negative reviews about it. Overall, I think is was okay but sadly I will have to add it in the bottom of my list with Scooby movies, as a least favorite but surely 'kinda-fun' film. ps: Also I think Caliph was super annoying... more than Pirate Captain, yes!

yeah, this is widely considered the worst Scooby film in the entire set. that said Scooby and shaggy are really not in it long enough to call this a Scooby movie.

Just watched the movie for the first time in a while. It's...fine. It's not a full Scooby movie so it doesn;t really count. I read someone say that their headcanon for the movie is that Scooby and Shaggy are participating in a school play of 1001 Arabian Nights, and that makes it better. I really like the adaptations of Aladdin, and how they switched the genders for it, and the Sinbad was really cute and funny. Definitely one of my least favorite Scooby movies though. A solid 6/10.

I do not consider this a Scooby movie so it's impossible for me to even compare it as such. With that being said, I don't particularly like it but it's fine. I do not like the animation, but the Magilla Gorilla segment is actually very funny to me. It was compared to Laff a Lympics earlier and in my opinion, the Laff a Lympics are actually pretty good this is just tolerable enough. If I had to compare, i would rather watch this than a couple of the actual Scooby movies

An update: my former YouTube Poop of this movie is now hosted on my Google Drive account! drive.google.com/file/d/17UCkPl13pMrm1NJnMxuPYQcIdSl1kbo6/view?usp=sharingI can't reupload it onto YouTube due to Warner Bros. blocking the original upload, and because it was pretty popular (many of the views came from people who never saw the movie before and wanted to see what it was like), I wanted to keep it available, as despite being probably the worst thing Hanna-Barbera made in the 1990s, it did make for some fun YTP material!
