I'd say this film is the weakest of the four 1998-2001 movies but regardless it's still very good. Though I never watched it much as a kid since the aliens creeped me out, though looking back I'm not really sure why they did. It does have my favorite cover art though for any of the DTV movies. Something about the colours of the beam and ship just grab me.
Only reason I could see it being a higher rating is because the bad guys/MPs/satalitte minders try (and nearly suceed) in dropping Fred, Daphne and Velma down a pit. Which due to (as scoobypediapossible said) the subtle dark tone ups it a bit. Still having to be 17 to buy it is a bit much haha.
And of course Lester was hilarious.

It was pretty good, better than Witch's Ghost but not as good as Zombie Island and Cyber Chase.

I like this movie! It wasn't my favorite one, but I did like it. I used to watch it a lot when I was younger.

scooby finds love with an alien, and the gang solve another mystery. Not as good as Zimbie Island or witch's ghost, imo, but still good.

I liked this movie. The ending made my eyes moist, but I couldn't help guffawing when Fred of all people began blubbering inelegantly when Shaggy and Scooby said their good byes. I liked the twist at the end, that was cool.

Well at least the real aliens were. The fake ones were still villains.

I didn't used to like the movie so much (I liked it, just not nearly as much as other ones), but last time I watched it, for some reason it really stuck with me. I watched it in a sort of introspective way, or something like that. It's gone from one of the more forgettable Scooby movies to maybe my favorite. It's really beautiful in terms of the artwork too. I used to watch Scooby movies as just that, Scooby movies. Now I'm trying to see them as a piece of art, and this one was really wonderful.

I liked this one. Frankly though the movies and TV shows after this weren't very good. I couldn't get into a Pup named Scooby Doo because of the gang being little kids. And the first time I saw Mystery Incorporated was the episode where they have Fred and Daphne in this museum of their adventures and there's a statue of Scrappy Doo. Daphne starts to say something about Scrappy and Fred says, "We promised never to talk about him." That made me mad. Thanks a lot James Gunn! I later did try to watch it on Netflix a few years ago but ended up quitting it because of the astronomically stupid premise of their parents and the freaking cops on the show wanting these lunatics dressed up as monsters running around terrorizing people because, "We could've made money off them!" Yeah! That whole premise of the entire town they live in being dependent on tourism for all the guys in masks they caught is really stupid. But it's even more stupid that every adult is an idiot who want these lunatics running around injuring people! I haven't bothered watching the newest show.

Still had a Barnes & Noble gift card leftover since my birthday and decided to finally go and spend it this past weekend. They had all 4 of the Mook Animation DTV Scooby films on DVD, and I just couldn't pass them up! The last time I'd seen any of these was on VHS (Alien Invaders being one of, if not the last film, I ever watched before retiring the VHS player), so, I was tepidly excited to watch them all again.
Alien Invaders was always my favorite of these growing up. I'd even owned 3 VHS tapes of it at one point - that's how often the family watched this one and 'ran out' the tape, thus having to buy a new copy. Can't believe I hadn't scoured to upgrade to the DVD on this film like I had with so many other of my childhood favorites. But, now I'm certainly glad to have this one again.
On re-watch, though, I think I'd rank this one just a tad lower than Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost. Even I can admit when my love of a film/cartoon is a bit more nostalgia than critical thinking. Although, this is still a great Scooby outing. I love the songs, story, and visuals (although, as with Witch's Ghost, I feel that there's a slow but steady decline with each subsequent entry. Zombie Island still really holds up well and looks like a sparkling gem every frame. Witch's Ghost only has a handful of scenes where the visuals don't "sparkle" as much IMO, and with Alien Invaders it's switched to becoming only a handful of shots where that same "sparkle" is there)
I think Zombie Island and this film have the best soundtracks out of the bunch. Being a composer myself, I usually am a stickler for this sort of thing - and even upon first viewings (well, first re-viewings) I was blown away with both Zombie Island and Alien Invaders' scores.
Kinda sad knowing that this was Mary Kay Bergman's final performance as Daphne (she just might be my favorite, actually) but, I couldn't help but notice that a line or two seemed to sound just a tad different. I wonder if she was able to complete full VO recording for this one, or did BJ Ward, Grey DeLisle, and/or someone else have to do any pick-ups? I know that something similar happened on Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Jim Varney passed away before completing all Cookie lines, so another actor was brought in to finish the two he missed. IMO, a line or two sounded a bit more like DeLisle's Daphne. (which, IDK, could have been her - or perhaps inspired her later take on the character) I grew up with the Learning Company Scooby games, and they used DeLisle, however I really do think I prefer Bergman's performance in these three films. Wish she could have provided the voice of Daphne for longer...
Of all of these films, I think Alien Invaders has the best after credits sequence. It's short, sweet, and to the point. Was great to see on VHS because it was a subconscious reminder to re-wind the tape. I think the other films try too hard with theirs (and Witch's Ghost completely excludes it!)
While I might not enjoy this one quite as much as Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost, it's still a very, very close 2nd place for me. I could watch this one again and again as well. Really enjoyed Crystal and Amber too! Would love to see them return/be referenced again sometime.

Really good although probably the weakest of the four Mook era films but that speaks more to how good the other ones are. I love the Roswell, New Mexico like setting with the alien sightings and everything. Very, very good

I used to also think that this movie was the weakest of the Mook era (1998-2001) but upon further reflection, I've actually come to really appreciate this light-hearted adventure, more and more in my adulthood. It's certainly missing that dark edge that the previous 2 films owned but it's such a vibrant, entertaining romp through the beautiful vistas of New Mexico. The side characters are larger than life, the twist at the very end is pretty surprising and the animation is gorgeous. Truth be told - neither of the plots are anything special but the picturesque setting and summertime vibes more than make up for those faults.
