So what did you think of Chapter 3?
I thought it was really good, though not quite as creepy or captivating as The Creeping Creatures. This one seemed to get a little more into the personal aspect of the characters, with the mystery a little more in the background.
Some cute humor though. I liked it when they found the secret cave...a classic Scooby element where the trail ends suddenly into solid rock or a wall...and Velma is like "Duh, it's a secret passage."
Did anyone notice Daphne humming one of the old theme songs in her first scene? Either WAY? or The New Movies, I can't remember which now.
And Don Knotts made a 2nd cameo.
As with last week's ep, the only thing I found a little disappointing was the unveiling of the villain. It wasn't obvious this time, but it just happened like all of a sudden. I wasn't expecting it to happen that quick. And he just confesses he'd have gotten away with it, before they even say what he's accused of.
Still a good ep though, and I'm really liking this new series.

Forgot to ask. Did anyone notice any other cameos or nods to the past?

I liked the episode. I liked that you couldn't tell who the villain was this time. I noticed Daphne humming the old theme song. And saw Don Knotts in the crowd. I didn't really like the whole thing with Daphne going on a date, and her trying to make Freddy jealous. I think it took away too much from the story line. Though i do get that they did it to throw you off. What ever happened to the cop at the beginning who lost control of his motorcycle and was hanging on the tree branch? I thought it was odd that he never showed up again in the episode. I don't think this was my favorite episode so far, but I did really enjoy it.

Was a great episode! Loved how Scooby seems to be getting more spot light. Also thought it was cute that Daphne was humming a scooby theme song. ;D

yeah i sorta found it odd too. Because it was a theme song for a tv show they would think it was just real life

When they find the CD from Mr. E, Shaggy says that last time they heard from him, he told them they were all doomed. Hmm, I heard that line but didn't make the timing connection. I guess I also must've assumed he meant the last time they heard his voice. Interesting though...could go either way. Mark

I liked the episode. I didn't really like the whole thing with Daphne going on a date, and her trying to make Freddy jealous. I think it took away too much from the story line. I thought it kinda took away from the mystery as well. It wasn't quite as gripping and 'edge of your seat' as "The Creeping Creatures". Although I didn't think Daphne went on the date to make Fred jealous. I just thought she didn't have anything else much to do since the Fred-thing wasn't going anywhere. And she didn't quite accept the date actually I don't think...more like Mr. Arrogant just said they'd meet before she had a chance to answer one way or the other. Plus her parents kinda pressured a little. I'm guessing the episode story-lines may rotate like this. One week will focus more on the mystery and suspense with hints of their personal lives thrown in, and the next will reveal more of the gang's internal story, with the mystery a little more in the background. I tend to lean a little more towards the mystery side of things, but so far I like how they're handling the interpersonal side of it. That kinda thing has a lot of potential to go badly if they overdid it, but so far they're pulling it off pretty well. I wasn't really sure I'd like all that, but so far it's been interesting. Mark
