I blame this series for the Scrappy hate. The first few Scrappy seasons were fast paced while The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show returned the show to slow paced. Hanna Barbera just should have put the series on a three year hiatus between 1980-1982.

I thought most of this season was a step down compared to the Richie Rich paired ones. The Yabba-Doo segments just don't really sit right with me. Actually, for all the flack he sustains, Scrappy is actually the most tolerable character in those segments.
Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy running a detective agency (if reluctantly) on their own and getting into trouble with bullies is kind of paltry compared to all the crazy reality warping stuff that happened in the first two seasons. There's a couple of gems scattered throughout (like the mind-swapping device episode), but a lot of the energy is gone. It was nice hearing the old Ted Nichols score in a handful of segments after a four year absence, though.
