In "Theater of Doom" Van Ghoul says: "... no time to run, there's only panic, as the mission falls into the Atlantic." A heckler calls out, "It's the Pacific, you hack!" Van Ghoul pauses for an instant, clearly realizing the man is right, but then covers with an evil laugh.
This seems like a solid clue that Crystal Cove is on the Pacific coast, probably in California. On the other hand, California is not a natural habitat for alligators. Both areas saw Spanish conquistadors.
What do people think about the location of Crystal Cove?

I would have though Atlantic as most of the activity was there and down into the Gulf of Mexico but you are right the conquistadors did get across to California so it could be however in one of the flashback we saw then using the disk on a ship which strongly implies the Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico as the expeditions to California were by land.

There hasn't been enough evidence for me to say either way.

First season I got the feeling that it was east coast, second season I'm feeling that it's west coast. I guess they are trying to be vague like where Springfield is in the Simpsons...that way they are not limited in whatever they want to plot.

There were Spanish galleons on the other coast too, primarily to carry trade goods from the Orient to Acapulco (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manila_galleon).

I'm going to hazard a guess that it could be on the west coast................

I always just kind of assumed it was the East Coast, most likely Florida. And, other than that one line, I think that setting makes the most sense.
My guess is that the official location will be staying pretty ambiguous, though.

I'm not sure; all I know is that Crystal Cove used to have a railroad line running through it, but it's been closed and out of service since "The Wild Brood"

In season one I always suspected it to be East coast. The weird thing is, the forests and the general look of the place always made me think it had to be somewhere in northern part of the East Coast. At the same time, there's a swampy area (Gatorsburg) nearby. The comment in the last episode leads me to say West Coast. It would explain Vincent Van Ghoul being so close, I guess. I guess its West Coast. That's as close to a confirmation that I've come across.

New clue: the Nibiru machine has given out coordinates for a location in Gatorsburg. Parsing the numbers as DMS of latitude and longitude, we have the location of Gatorsburg as 34 11 15N, 118 20 46W, which is in our Burbank, California. So Crystal Cove must be on the California coast.
The Los Angeles area seems to be much more sparsely populated in their world. Perhaps rumors of earthquakes and other scary happenings have kept people away?

Using Google Earth, I found the address of the Gatorsburg coordinates is 3300 W. Pacific Avenue, a warehouse for set lighting owned by Warner Bros.
Perhaps the coordinates should be taken as an inside joke rather than the real location of Gatorsburg.
