I wasn't happy when they made the live action movies, and I have yet to see the 2nd one. The only reason I saw the first one was because my niece showed it at her birthday. I own the movies though. I got them as a B-day present, so one of these days I'll watch it. I would most likely not see any other live action movies anytime soon, especially without the original cast.

This is from MovieHole.com: Robbie Amell and Hayley Alcroft have joined the cast of Scooby Doo 3, shooting next month in Vancouver under the directon of Brian Levant. Amell, best known for his role as Max on TVs Life with Derek, plays Fred in the prequel movie. The Canadian-based actor appeared in last year's American Pie : Beta House and before that, Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Talented newcomer Alcroft, who appeared in Unfabulous (2004) with Emma Roberts, plays Velma in the movie. The duo join Nick Palatas (Shaggy) and Kate Melton (Daphne) for the flick. www.moviehole.net/2008/07/21/scooby-doo-3s-velma-and-fred-cast/

I think the movie could be a good idea, but I did hear the new Velma might be Asian!!!

An Asian Velma? Hmmm...weird! I can't find a picture online of Hayley Alcroft, who is supposed to be playing Velma. If anyone else can find it, please post one here.

Hi. Just cam eon to say two things, or rather three. One: Velma IS Asian in the PreSD movie. Two: The guy playing Shaggy is very very hot. ;D And Three: Seeing as this movie is set for when the gang first met in high school, it makes sense that they'd need a new cast, because to have people who are in their mid-30s play a 15 to 17 year old group of kids in high school is just not...good.
That is all for tonight. Toodles!

Very true that a new cast would be better, since they are looking for high school age kids. But the thought of another movie, based on Pup, and with a different cast is weird. And Asia Velma is weird. But I also didn't think they should have made a live action movie at all. They did do a great job casting Shaggy (Matthew Lillard) and Velma (Linda Cardellini) in the movies though.

Yeah, Matt and Linda were GREAT as Shag and Velma. They fit their characters to a T. It's actually a shame that in the newer SD cartoons, they don't use Matt to do Shaggy's voice, cause his impersonation was fantastic! Freddie and Sarah were okay as Fred and Daphne, but they probably could've done better in that area of casting.
As for the new live-action movie, we don't know how it's gonna turn out. For all we know this PreSD movie could be really good. The only way to find out is to see it, s'what I say. Agreed?

True! And maybe someday I'll watch the 2nd live action movie LOL! I still don't like the idea of live action SD. But I have to get over it because it's been done. Too bad for me.
