they introduce googie as "adoring but totally liberated" and then don't let her do anything that isn't directly related to shaggy. there are jokes about the villain beating his wife. I've also always found it odd that they made a point to call Googie "liberated" but then she actually doesn't do much. Also, regarding your second point, I think they were trying to go for a Honeymooners type joke with the "Pow! To the moon!" remarks, but yeah, it does come off as pretty horrifying that Dracula is joking about beating his wife/girlfriend (I don't know if they ever confirmed in the film if they were married?).

I love Googie and I really wanna see her appear again where she can ACTUALLY be liberated. It just seemed to be following a trend of the time to call her that.
I remember my mom explaining the reference to me, but it'd probably bother me in Honeymooners, too. The base of the joke is what bugs me, even though I learned it was a reference. At least it's not an original Scooby thought!

Me too! <3 From what I understand, that was actually the character's catchphrase in The Honeymooners, which has to be among the worst catchphrases of all time. The fact that it's not an original Scooby thought saves it for me too, but yeah, I don't like that it's even referenced in the film.

Imagine disliking Boo Brothers and Reluctant Werewolf, when we have 20 movies from 2012 onwards ranging from pretty awful to total garbage. But it's a free world i guess.

Yeah, now that I think of it WB probably should have stopped Scooby after the What's New? era and SDMI onward could have just used original new characters. The Scooby format has been recreated with original characters dozens of times in the past so SDMI could have worked like that as well.

If it weren’t for the nostalgia effect I think they would be close to the bottom for me. Also, most of my favs are from the latest dtvs sooo

I agree with you that I much prefer Boo Brothers and Reluctant Werewolf to most if not all of the recent DTV’s which I have been rather unimpressed with, but everyone is entitled their own opinion. Every opinion is a right opinion

1. Witch's Ghost - drags on and on and on 2. Music of the Vampire - not a fan of the music aspect 3. Gourmet Ghost - I'm a big Bobby Flay fan and this movie did not portray him well.

I actually love the music in MofV, hahaha! I hate musicals, but it's so silly that it feels almost like parody to me and I love it. The "going on adventure song" for sure. It was something different and I applaud them for that. This also reminds me that I haven't seen the puppet scooby movie all the way through and I'm curious to finish that.

1. Witch's Ghost - drags on and on and on Man, I think this movie is too short. It's just over an hour long and could've done with 10 or so more minutes.

Hey, you're totally allowed to enjoy those movies. My dislike of them is just my personal preference. I think the beauty of Scooby Doo is that there's so much media that everyone has their own favorites. Every Scooby show/movie/etc is SOMEONE'S favorite, and I just think that's a nice sentiment.

To be fair, red shirt Shaggy exists in an alternate timeline where monsters are real. From the '80s through the very early 2000s.
