I've noticed that all the active discussions are only about one topic in particular. So somewhere to just randomly chat about whatever (in a separate section, chat box, something like that) could be nice if others want it.

That would be neat! I don't think a chat box could be made if we wanted one though. A random chat thread could be made for just general disscussion, nothing specific.
It would be in the General Board, but it might be a good idea to create a separate section so the thread doesn't get lost in the 19 pages on the General Board.

We could also make a sub-category for it too.
Does anyone else agree?

What's a sub-category?

I'm guessing that the forum is relatively low maintenance for the mods as it is very specific (i.e. all Scooby all the time). The moment you start introducing an 'off-topic' area you obviously increase the scope and depth of the interaction between members (both good and bad) but you also make it easier for spammers/trolls/sock-puppets to slip in under the radar and cause mischief. If you do this just be prepared to knock heads together more often and you'd better warm up that ban-hammer.

You could always have an new members area where people could introduce themselves.

A board connected to another board. Example: The Theme Songs section of the forum would be a sub-category of the ScoobyTalk category. Does that help?

Yep, I think that's why we haven't made this category before (or at least that's why I haven't). Like russm said, if this category was made, be prepared for a lot of spammers. So far, in the time I've been on this forum, we've had 4 spammers.

Probably General.

I think it would be best to create a new category for it. I don't think it would be that imporatant to have at the top of the main page.

Either that or the chat section would be split into groups based on if it's relevant or irrelevant to SD at all, I guess...
As for the trolls, yeah, that's to be expected. I actually haven't seen many trolls who go out of their way to troll just chat threads- most of the ones I've seen were on forums made purely for roleplay and just trolled everything.
