Rachel has already surpassed Holly's longevity, but I don't know if the producers will want to keep Rachel when she's in her 40s. Besides, it seems as if, in recent years, Rachel's appearances seem to have been dwindling, implying she may be nearing the end of her run. It would make sense, as wage costs are likely mounting, and keeping a model on for a very extended period adds up wage costs. I can see the possibility of her being laid off in the coming years, or maybe she'll leave on her own terms, realizing she may be fired and possibly filing and losing a lawsuit (especially after two models sued during Drew's tenure and lost their cases - one of them outright lost in 2012, and the other likely paid a sum of money in settlement to the producers by 2016, though we will never know the truth about the latter (in both those cases, their discrimination claims were likely false, as the producers argued with solid proof to support their argument). I personally think the terminations of those two models was likely due to budget cuts and not due to pregnancy and weight gain. One model who was fired (she was pregnant with twins, which may have been a contract violation at the time), was replaced by a better and much younger model who has attracted millions of viewers, ratings skyrocketing and generating massive revenue since her debut in April 2009. And the truth? She became a crush of many of her fans, unlike her predecessor. That predecessor was just too old for the show, which explains why they argued they wanted replace her with someone even better in order to keep the show on top, and further on top at that. Had the predecessor not been fired, the show probably would have faced a speedy demise. As much as I liked her predecessor, but if the replacement has been bringing in much better ratings, that's what counts.
And by the way, that replacement, who has been on the show for a decade last April, is currently on maternity leave, but she never had twins. So the chances of her returning to the show is pretty solid. I can imagine her returning to the studio for recordings as early as November, which is quickly approaching.
The show also seems to have a long-standing agenda that they want to replace models before they turn 40, as in the entertainment industry, a modeling career is usually over before 40 (typically, after age 30, but a game show model is a different story).

Don't forget, Sesame Street, the longest-running educational TV program in history, is turning 50 this year as well. Though its anniversary occurs in November.
Unlike Scooby and Brady, Sesame Street has aired in first-run episodes non-stop for 50 years, though its future after Season 50 is uncertain considering the loss of viewership over the last few years. Of course. Sesame Street is going to be 50 soon. Unfortunately I think that the loss of viewership had to do with 1. The channel hops in recent years 2. Reduction to 28 minutes instead of 48 minutes (gotta have room for funding) 3. Back when the turn of the millennium happened... Elmo's world went from being a Friday special (like animated credits originally) to half the show. Nothing against the little muppet, but was it necessary for every episode of the week? Should have given some other Muppets a featured segment at the end before time to go like they tried with the Journey to Ernie...too bad that backfired. To bad Arthur hasn't guest starred on Sesame Street (that I know of, that would be a major ratings booster now. The two longest running educational shows in history and all they'd need to do is do it the way Mr. Rogers did and vice versa) Also, The Price is Right, the longest-running game show in television history, is getting closer to turning 50 (it is now in its 48th season), and its ratings are pretty strong, unlike Sesame Street. The producers of The Price is Right always try to keep the show current, and the formula works as the show has solid viewership. It did suffer a period of ratings problems during Drew Carey's roughly first 18 months on the show, but by April 2009, ratings likely rebounded in a big way, thanks to some drastic changes including the launch of a new female model which a lot of viewers seem to have a crush on, and likely attracted a surge of younger fans to the show. I personally think The Price is Right will have a longer run than Sesame Street will.

I personally think, considering it's been announced that Superman's true secret identity is going to be exposed in December, it may be hinting that DC Comics is likely in jeopardy and may be a telltale sign that DC may end up closing up shop in the near future.

I think it's pretty evident at this point that the DC Comics run of Scooby will be cancelled.

I wonder if the idea for this episode was inspired by a two-part Richie Rich comic book story in which the title of part 2 was "A Surprise for the Spies", which was published early in 1980, if I recall? I think it was commonplace for Richie Rich animated adaptations to come from stories published by Harvey Comics within a year prior to production?

I don't know which 1979 episode of "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo" is being discussed here.

There are currently talks by the producers of The Simpsons whether Martin, Sherri and Terri, will be retired from the show. Maybe it could be revealed that Martin, Sherri and Terri have all moved away due to their parent's job transfer, the same way Principal Haney was retired from the cast of characters on Arthur.
Nonetheless, sad loss in the world of cartoons. And Doo's bottom photo in his signature speaks for itself.

I really enjoy this series. I have to admit, this is perhaps the best Scooby series since "What's New?", and the "meddling kids" looked more true to the classic look. They even restored many of the Hanna-Barbera sound effects in this series too, unlike with "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated". It's even more enjoyable when some dormant Hanna-Barbera characters, such as "The Funky Phantom Crew" were major characters in Episode 2, although they got into a feud with the Mystery Inc. gang; and also the Speed Buggy gang made a cameo towards the end of that episode, if the teens were not speaking. Though I did notice about April Stewart, her eyes no longer have white, and her shoes are now navy blue sneakers (please clarify?) instead of white dress shoes.

I personally think having segments involving just Scrappy are pointless. Especially if they are set in the Wild West. I think this idea of having wild west segments may have been in the wake of the success of movie westerns during the 1960s and early 1970s, and popularity of movie westerns were in decline by 1982, if I remember correctly.
I agree, I wouldn't have had a problem with these Yabba-Doo segments if Scooby and/or Shaggy were involved, but to have a full segment with Scrappy and no Scooby involved, I never cared for them myself. And, as I said before, I don't hate Scrappy. I care more for the storylines when it comes to Scooby-Doo or any cartoon series for that matter.
In "The Scooby & Scrappy-Doo/Puppy Hour", I only watch it just for the "Scooby and Scrappy-Doo" segments, but when the "Scrappy and Yabba-Doo" segments come on, I devote those seven minute periods to other interests, since I am not a fan of recurring segments regularly set in the Wild West.

Now that is how you draw Scooby's Gang! Pretty solid art, and definitely a far better improvement over the art used in "Be Cool" and "Get a Clue".
It's too bad I cannot access the Boomerang app to view any episodes when they come out, due to being blocked in Canada, where I live.

I wonder if this news might mean the demise of DC Comics? I bet talks are ongoing, and the way I see it, Superman could be no more, at least in the comic book industry. Makes me wonder if Marvel will suffer next?

If DC loses the license to publish H-B properties, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. There has been an active thread about DC cancelling titles, leaving only the core titles. I hope SDWAY makes it to issue #100 before the series gets cancelled. I think DC is better off publishing their own titles, such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.
I guess you could say that Scooby Apocalypse has finally met its ultimate apocalypse.

My favorite episodes in this series were among the Richie Rich material.
If there were any Scooby episodes I would like, there would be two: "Scooby-Doo 2000" and "Swamp Witch". I think the storylines were crazy and bizarre during the era of seven-minute shorts, and were more comedy and less on mystery. At least it got better in 1982. It makes me wonder if H-B had new (and better) writers for Scooby-Doo when Daphne rejoined the cast in 1983?

"No Sharking Zone" - because Daphne looked hot in her bikini!
"The Creature Came from Chem Lab" - I especially like the school dance setting towards the end, and an early example of computer game piracy in the plot.
"Who's Minding the Monster?" - because of Scooby uttering "Quacky-Quacky-Doo!" instead of his usual "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"
"No Thanks, Masked Manx" - because I liked seeing Daphne and Shaggy dancing together.
