I`m not into the relationship stuff. I dont mind the Fred and Daphne thing because thats how its been since the start of the series. But besides that, I just like the gang the way it is. UltimateScoobyFan, I agree with you there!

I am done with my Fan Fiction.net board for Shaggy and Daphne because FF.Net has gone down hill. They will not let me sign into my FF Adt so I am done with the. Now back on Topic I think we all got are own fav couples and my fav is Shaphne. The reason why is because why can the dork guy get the hot girl for once?

A Shaggy Daphne hook up would make for drama, dilemma, and conflict within the group...all aspects of good dramatic writing, especially for an episodic series. I don't think a lasting relationship would happen though and that this particular pairing is crafted only for the before mentioned purposes.

Which would mean I would stop watching it, I don't want to watch a Scooby Doo Socially Dysfunctional Inc. I'm not buying the season 1 DVD's because of the relationship drama and it sounds like I won't be getting season 2 (I had been thinking about it as so far I'd liked what I saw.). I will watch them once then avoid them if they are going down this road.

UltimateScoobyFan, I agree with you there! Yep, I agree with you two. It's not like I'd ragequit if Shaphne happened (well... probably not), but I don't feel like that pairing randomly being stuck in there would work out well- especially for the gang's dynamic.

Also, by the poll up there, it seems like some people may be murdered, since someone voted "I'd go on a murder spree if that happened", since it did happen.

Hi! I'm new here, as you can see. But I really LOVE Shaphne! Sorry Frephne fans but I think that's its the best couple! They move with subtle actions and isn't shoved down your throat! Even though I think that WB has ruined Scooby Doo [ To some extent] I trust and believe that Shaphne will come back. But only if we get enough fans!

New here, and Shaphne is the coolest pairing ever they have so much in common. Frephne is a brother/sister relation as is Shelma Frelma and Shaphne is actually canon so I support them and wish that they would stick to it.

Frephne is a brother/sister relation as is Shelma Frelma and Shaphne is actually canon so I support them and wish that they would stick to it. Canonical as defined by who? From SD:MI and the recent films (up to Stage Fright) the overriding relationship has been Fraphne. Aside form that the other series are pretty much devoid of any explicit paring, WNSD had squat apart from the Homeward Hound episode and the same is true from what I can recall of SDWAY & TSDS. If you want canon go to Star Trek, Babylon 5 or similar where there is an overarching back-story and pre-defined universe in which everything has to fit including the previous actions of the characters. We had that in SD:MI but not in any of the early series, WNSD had continuity between episodes (characters would reoccur and remember that they had met before but nothing else). Don't stop shipping that paring but wishing it was so doesn't make it so.

I want all of this B S ended and removed from Scooby. You have Fred and Velma dating and that's it, the rest are members of the gang. There is NO reason for Velma to be dating Shaggy, it has no bearing, they can't understand each other. They get to have the outside influences during mysteries while Fred and Daphne are irrevocably together. It's part of the formula and SDMI paid a high price for trying Shelma and breaking up Fraphne in the first place.

We had that in SD:MI but not in any of the early series, WNSD had continuity between episodes (characters would reoccur and remember that they had met before but nothing else). Go back to the 80's episodes this is where Shaphne starts, and also where Frelma starts. Scooby canon is split into 4 universes The original series from 1969-1991 is the canon Hanna-Barbera universe, even if Pup is a little more 80's-ish than 60's-ish but that's because the gang is always more "advanced" than anyone else in Coolsville. The second universe is any animated movie from Zombie Island on which is part of the What's New Scooby-Doo-verse where Fraphne(blech) starts. Shaggy and Scooby-Doo get a clue is part of the live action universe, again more disgusting Fraphne, followed by an introduction of the even worse Shelma. Mystery Incorporated's producers said that it is not canon. Think of the show as it's in sort of a comic book world. The Hanna-Barbera Originals is Earth One, The What's New Scooby-Doo period (1998-Present) is Earth 2, Get a Clue and Live Action is Earth 3 and Mystery Inc is Earth 4.

I once watched a set of WNSD episodes and for a side line viewed them through a Shaphne/Frelma etc lens (i.e. to introduce confirmation bias for the chosen paring) and found that I could make a half-hearted case for most parings (with Frelma the winner but there wasn't much in it). The point I was trying to make with saying if it was canon was this 'did the writers explicitly have this in mind when they wrote the show, does it form part of the back-story/context that all shows have to fit' if they didn't/it isn't then it is not canonical, period.
I do agree that you can split the various shows into a number of different universes but not necessarily in the details.
I'll be honest the one thing that ticks me off with the Shaphe paring is not the paring, it is some of the shaphne fans (no offence meant) and their almost religious insistence that this is the one true paring and the subsequent bile cast of the other parings and the characters of Fred and Velma and sometimes those who like those parings. A quick glance at FanFIction forums and well I rest my case. I enjoy the show a lot, seriously I've written nearly 400,000 words of Scooby Doo fan fiction, much of it shelma but I would never deny/belittle/reject another bit of work, either Fan FIction or done by the studio, just because it has a paring I don't 'approve' of.
