Really enjoyed episode 1. (Haven't been able to watch episode 2 yet.)
To Mike's point about the Scoob! movie: Frank Welker probably had an NDA where he wasn't able to talk about the project until x, y, z time. (Probably after it had been announced.) I understand his point but I don't think Lillard and DeLisle would lie about how they found out just to stir the pot. (And this is from someone who has gone thru certain periods of not liking either of them in their roles.) We also have to remember that, whether they discussed it with Welker beforehand or not, hearing it from a colleague and hearing it from the horses mouth are two different things so either way they have a right to feel slighted.
One thing I would've liked to hear more about was Scooby's staying power versus other cartoons but less generalized. It would've been nice to hear thoughts about what the panel felt set Scooby-Doo apart from other cartoons of the same formula specifically and not just cartoons in general. (Jabberjaw, Josie, Chan Clan, Funky Phantom and even Speed Buggy.) At the end of the day Scooby-Doo is still around with different incarnations and those cartoons aren't. I'm sure they each have their following but I'll hazard a guess that it isn't as big as Scooby's.
Overall, it was amazing actually hearing other adults seriously discuss Scooby-Doo. Really can't wait till I have time to listen to episode 2!

Yes, I also donβt necessarily agree that Lillard and DeLisle knew before they posted on social media. I think their reactions were genuine.
I will eventually be doing another panel comparing Scooby to the other shows that have a similar formula or dynamic.

Scooby Panel #3 was released on Saturday. We discussed the art styles of Scooby-Doo. Jon Colton Barry watched it, at least part of it, and he enjoyed the comments about Be Cool π youtu.be/LM_qyixGEg4
