Apparently Tony also posted the title card of the movie but then deleted it That's odd that he would delete it so quickly. Thanks for finding it again Scoobylover!

Peppa Pig is CGI. It uses a 2D animation package called CelAction. I think you mean digital animation rather than CGI. The same type of animation Blue's Clues used during Seasons 3-6. Digital is usually 2D but done on the computer. If it's too expensive to do hand drawn animation, why can't they use digital animation for movies based on franchises which are known for being 2D? I just feel like they are taking something away when they remove 2D from cartoons which are known for being 2D.

From Wikipedia
Hair splitting aside asking why they have gone down the 3D route is an interesting question, IMO it is because they expect that this is what the audience will expect from a theatrical release as opposed to a DTV. Will it work, who knows as we have yet to see any footage from the film.
If the story is pants no amount of animation magic will save it.

So far I like how they did Scooby, he looks the best he has been in ages actually in my opinion, I hope they do Shaggy same justice animation wise. Sounds good, we never did get to see how the gang all meet in a Pup named Scooby Doo did we? They all are friends already. Wonder if they'll keep Shaggy's father being a cop and him having a sister in it?
If they didn't treat the Voice actors of the previous films like crap I'd actually be looking forward to this. One thing I was really worried about was the animation of the characters so this kind of gives me hope.

Oh yeah, they always seem to announce a movie about a certain Looney Tunes character but they never seem to get made.

Kind of reassuring how much it looks normal. I'm not floored or impressed, and for once that's a good thing! It's just normal Scooby Doo, the 2D design made 3D. Glad they didn't futz with it.
As for those asking why this had to be 3D - because no Hollywood executive was ever going to greenlight a traditional 2D film for theatrical release in the current pop culture climate. If it ain't 3D, it ain't happening, period. Luckily the DTV and various series will remain 2D for the foreseeable future (although a 3D outing on that front too is also only a matter of time).

Found a slightly bigger version of the picture. Looks so nice They designed him as classic as possible and I love it! I presume that the rest of his body will be revealed next week... XP

I'm digging that it looks like what some of us hoped. A CGI fleshing out from 2d to 3d. That is one worry alleviated for me.

The full design looks awesome! I toned down the brightness and exposure of the image to see it in better detail.
