I am so HAPPY that the monster ended up being fake! In my opinion that’s what makes Scooby-Doo UNIQUE there are already so many shows out there with real monsters. I love the fact that Scooby-Doo breaks that mold and is DIFFERENT it’s sets it apart from other shows. I was very worried initially but relieved to find out that the monster was a man in a mask. To me that’s how Scooby-Doo should be. And also the original series was NEVER dark other than the intro the 13 ghost series was very goofy and didn’t even feel like a Scooby show. I hope they continue down this route. I am very satisfied with the movie! 9/10!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I personally think the fake monster format gets repetitive. I think they should mix it up so we don't know whether the monster/ghost will be real or fake.

Because if anything real monsters make Scooby-Doo like EVERY OTHER supernatural show. Plus with the fake monster your always guessing who it is so it’s not repetitive. The suspect is always a different person. Face it what made scooby doo stand the test of time was it’s UNIQUE format. If scooby started off which real monsters it wouldn’t have been the iconic show it is today.

What a spoiler in the title. Some people may not have had time to watch it yet, you know, it's been less than 10 days since the movie release.

Except, the transitional fake monster formant has been around for the majority of 50 years which Scooby has been around, meaning that format gets stale overtime if they aren't allowed to switch it up which makes them have very little creativity.

Personally, I don't mind the ghost turns out to be real twist as it creates some mystery that this time the monster is not some dude in a mask and is a real threat. The one thing I like about this franchise is that it walks both lines of real supernatural occurrences or just some creep dressing up as a ghoul to get rich.
Now, I was a little upset that they went the creep in a mask route with this movie as I feel it kind of a disservice to the original show and its fan especially knowing that this movie was supposed to wrap up the show and finally end the 30+ year mystery of the final ghost.

I actually guessed the monster would be fake when I saw the first trailer since I noticed they weren't showing a lot of it. But I expected more of a Witch's Ghost/Samurai Sword ending where they then battle the real monster. The redemption angle is fine but it loses a lot of its bite when the movie is too embarrassed to even say if it really happened or not.

The fake-monster format defined the character of Scooby-Doo but it doesn't mean Scooby-Doo always has to stick to that format. The reason people, like myself, are upset about the end of the movie is because it backtracks on the supernatural nature of "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo". That series was trying to be different and unique, and this movie being a continuation of it while also doing a complete 180 and serving up the same old story is lame. It's unfortunate that WB wanted to "play it safe" when it could have been much better with a real monster. It was disappointing.
ALSO, not cool spoiling the ending of the movie in the thread name when this movie is still really new.
