All three are the flagship series of their era, and they’re all really formulaic and such. But they’re all really great series. I think they’re equally great. Be Cool Scooby Doo is given a hard time because of the art style (which I have no issue with), but apart from that all three series are pretty equal imo. I think WNSD and SDWAY are (obviously) considered better due to nostalgia. But I really don’t see what makes them better than Be Cool.
Thoughts? Do you prefer one of the three or do you consider them relatively equal?

IMHO compared to the other two What's New is like watching paint dry. Oh yes. I definitely the original "Where Are You." Compared to that, "What's New Scooby-Doo" felt like a serious action/teen drama show, like "Static Shock" or "Jackie Chan Adventures," complete with similar Adelaide Productions-influenced artwork and hyper-realistic sound effects. It felt too much like real life instead of a cartoon, feeling a lot like the high school I was currently attending at that time. The way they had to constantly parody the formula got VERY tiring and predictable, and it was way too light-hearted compared to the older shows and especially "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated." I also didn't enjoy how Fred became a scatterbrained airhead, ala Lola Bunny on "The Looney Tunes Show" but without the brief bursts of babbling when talking, along with how it kept shoehorning in modern technology and trends to try and make it seem up to date, in a manner very reminiscent of how "The Fairly Oddparents" did that at the same time ("Uhh... Internet?") And I was especially upset by their harsh "Take that!" at "The Great Mouse Detective," one of my favorite underrated Disney animated films. It just angered and upset me so much that the animation studio that brought me the great Looney Tunes classics of the 30s to the 60s would sink so low. Ever since then, I hadn't trusted Warner Bros. Animation whenever they announced something new (and in many cases, I wouldn't like them that much.) "Be Cool Scooby-Doo" is a bit better by a margin. The designs are pretty unappealing, along with how it basically tried to be like a G-rated "Family Guy" clone (including using almost none of the H-B sound effects, save the classic "Scooby teeth chatter," something "What's New" didn't even use!) And how Daphne ended up getting that "Looney Tunes Show Lola Bunny" treatment this time, but at least she was a tad more competent than Lola or "What's New" Fred (while in this show, Fred was WAY more competent and serious than in previous incarnations!) But I did enjoy some episodes, and they had quite a few funny moments, albeit different from the H-B shows. Still not as good as "Where Are You," of course. But I actually made a Twitter post recently using a GIF I made from "There Wolf"...

I think The Scooby-Doo Show is really missing from this "equation". A lot of the modern tropes we associate with Scooby actually come from that show NOT Where Are You. The globetrotting, the "Meddling Kids" line, Velma giving an exposition dump, etc.

Where Are You isn't that good, imo (unless you consider the Scooby-Doo Show part of Where Are You). The character's aren't all that interesting and it feels very bland compared to future incarnations. I still respect it for the classic episodes and the foundation it created for what was to come. BCSD is hands down the best It is the most competently written and consistently enjoyable. What's New is one of my all time favorites, though partly due to nostalgia.

Where Are You and The SD Show should be considered as the one show, in my opinion. And they are the best among the rest, thanks to the their atmosphere and many good stories.
Be Cool is my second choice among these three (my real second choice is SDMI), but it's pretty inconsistent. Some episodes have great humor and ideas, but some are lame flops for me. Also the art style is the thing that killed this show. But despite the initial outrage, I've got used to it.
What's New Scooby Doo is my least favorite, because it's too goofy, has many bland and medicore plots and has stereotyped the Gang too much. It also aged not very well with its fascination for (then) modern technologies, which are pretty outdated today.
so
Where Are You > Be Cool > What's New

Am I the only one here who likes What's New? I thought it was fun.
Meanwhile I didn't care for the art style, type of humor they went for, or what they did to Daphne in Be Cool. Not saying it is bad, just too different for me.

Not saying it is bad, just too different for me. I love What's New, probably my top of all the series. Ironically in "What's New," they did the same thing to Fred that they did to Daphne in "Be Cool," by dumbing him down into a scatterbrained airhead. Just like Lola Bunny on "The Looney Tunes Show." "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated" is MUCH better than "What's New" and "Be Cool" IMO, but not as good as the pre-Scrappy stuff of course!
