There's an early review up for the movie: www.overlyanimated.com/2019/02/01/scooby-doo-and-the-curse-of-the-13th-ghost-a-very-good-movie-with-a-very-specific-audience/"The movie opens with a hilarious scene where they are told if they continue this vigilante ghost hunting after turning 18 they could face harassment charges." "The Easter eggs were a true treat for me, as this movie referenced everything from Flim-Flam, to the lack of Scrappy, down to Shaggy’s choice of shirt." "Daphne essentially assumes the team leadership role in this movie, and kicks all kinds of butt. Fred essentially has a bout of fragile masculinity and cannot comprehend his role in the team if Daphne is leader. He eventually accepts a role he knew he wanted but felt he could not socially accept. The movie even sneaks in a mansplaining joke, which is something I never knew I wanted from Scooby-Doo."

Is Weird and Bogel in this movie? I think we can infer from the second review that they are not. It mentions Bogel and Weird as part of the plot recap for To All the Ghouls I've Loved Before but doesn't give any indication that they reappear in the movie.

The movie has an ending of both adventures so maybe this could be a reboot to Scooby Doo Where Are You? I'm not sure what you mean. The yard sale scene references cases from Where Are You so I guess it's broadly a sequel to that series.

Will the new movie’s opening be similar to Abracadabra Doo? One review said it opened with Vince reciting a poem like in the show

Will the theme song be similar to The 13th Ghosts? I haven't seen the movie. If I were to guess, no. Someone posted a piece of music being used and it sounds nothing like Curtin's theme.

"Fragile masculinity and a mansplaining joke" Yeah, this definitely worries me. Did not expect that from this movie at all. Didn't mind the whole joke with Fred trying to fill Daphne roll, but after hearing that I'm a little scared. Also disappointing to see a lack of Scrappy and Weird and Bogel. All three characters were a huge part of the series. Guess, I'll just have to wait and see on Tuesday.

How many times has Fred "mansplained" the Mole People on that show? Where Are You played Fred so seriously that it made him an easy target for proxy jokes about 70s male chauvinism.

Oksy so we're leaning no on Bogel and Weerd, which is a bummer. But looks like at bare minimum Scrappy is getting referenced. The way that review mentions it I get the impression he's clearly not got a role in the main plot, but there are still several different ways the film could explain why he's not there. Given it also says there are lots of easter eggs for 13 Ghosts fans, I think it's probably not that negative. Which to be honest Scrappy getting a full redemption here was always a overly expectant longshot. But some of us were worried he may have been ignored completely, so one step at a time. The second review here does strengthen my thought there's a secondary antagonist that may get "unmasked" in addition to our main demon. Which is how I took the line that there's an ending that blends both of the adventures.
Also this quote: "The movie provides a much more detailed back-story as to the origins of the chest, and why Van Ghoul was entrusted to be its caretaker."
I've got my theory on that based on the one preview clip in my head already, but this is one part I'm very excited to see what they've chosen to go with.

I watched this movie yesterday afternoon. We never get to see the real 13th ghost. We see what looks like the demon's spirit gaining a ghostly human form and then being at peace. Velma claimed she made that up though. The demon we do meet turns out to be all too human.

Sigh, to prevent any disappointment now I'm just going to assume they made another of those hackneyed "haha Scrappy sucks" jokes, the type that have grown even older and more stale than Scrappy himself did when he was in the series.

Bummed to hear there's no actual 13 Ghosts opening for the intro like I was hoping and the lack of Scrappy is disappointing. What? Is it a rule in a Scooby film that you have to either bash Scrappy film or not have him in it at all? I don't get it, I mean he was apart of the group helping like him or not.
Oh well, other than that sounds great.

Honestly despite overthinking this movie for the last month the idea that they would pull that swerve never even entered my mind, But now that it did, I think it's opened some serious doors for later down the line. So this movie isn't the grand finale to 13 Ghosts, but instead reintroducing some of their plot elements to new fans.
I'm going to wait until I get to see the full movie myself before I make a full judgment, but we're only in the second month of 2019. We aren't going light on surprises so far.
