It appears that when New Movies aired on SBT in Brazil some years ago, they used the original intro with the guest stars, but here's the thing: This was from the newer master/telecine used for the DVD/Digital HD releases, so this proves that Warner, even if they can't release them, must have high quality archival copies of all the episodes instead of just the old Turner masters.

We do know work is ongoing with the library in general, so this would make some sense. We don't know when and how much work goes into anything that's not yet on the dvd front. The Boomerang app seemed like a way around these problems until they included the option for people to download temporary files of the individual episodes for offline viewing. Anything off limits to dvd would also be off limits to the app with that option involved.

It was brought to my attention today that the bonus New Scooby-Doo Movies episodes on the Shaggy's Showdown/Batman: The Brave and the Bold DVDs both have the original, uncut intros. Apparently, "The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair," "The Loch Ness Mess," and "The Mystery of Haunted Island" have the unedited intros on the Boomerang streaming service as well.

"The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair" has the original intro like it does on the Boomerang streaming service, but "The Caped Crusader Caper" has the edited intro. Very strange.

The edited version is the one used on DVD/digital releases, which has all images of the celebrities edited out of the intro and replaced with other scenes from the series. This is because some of the celebrities have refused to allow their episodes to be released on DVD and streaming.

Here's the uncensored, logo-less season 1 intro from the Shaggy's Showdown DVD!
It's still the old Turner master, but it's better than anything we've had of it before!

The Boomerang app seemed like a way around these problems until they included the option for people to download temporary files of the individual episodes for offline viewing. Anything off limits to dvd would also be off limits to the app with that option involved. So THAT's why the episodes are still missing? When I registered for Boomerang last month and realized they had EVERY Scooby show, I was so happy. Until I realized they were still missing those 7 episodes. It's a real shame, honestly. Some of my absolute favorites are in those 7 (Sonny & Cher, The Addams Family, Sandy Duncan). I really hope WB is working to get those 7 episodes out somehow, because it just doesn't feel the same knowing the library is incomplete. (I know we're still missing 20+ movies on the app, but that's a story for a different day!) I also really hope Guess Who doesn't fall victim to these same problems, considering it's the spiritual sequel to TNSDM.

It is still my understanding that because of that download option WB isn't taking any chances on anything that isn't clear for dvd on the app. But we're also on the understanding WB's legal team are indeed trying to clear up some of these. Some of these may be as simple as writing a check, others may be back and forth discussions.
We just don't get news on any progress there really unless George Feltenstein (the guy who runs the Warner Archive) happens to feel like talking. But right now there's one HB series on dvd and one on the boomerang app that used to be on that list and aren't anymore. So we're gonna keep hoping The New Scooby Doo Movies crosses the finish line too.

I think the contracts they have guest stars sign these days work more in Warner's favor. When New Scooby Doo Movies was made, DVD wasn't even a dream of the future.

Since this is a thread about the intro, I thought I'd ask here; what episode is the scene of Daphne in a purple dress and bun rowing a boat from? I thought it was from the Sandy Duncan episode, but I'm watching the Almost Complete Collection, and I'm up to the beginning of the Davy Jones episode with no dress in sight.

It's not in any episode to my knowledge. I've always thought it was a deleted scene from the Sandy Duncan episode, but I'm not sure.

Notice how we never see Shaggy & Scooby's encounter with "King Kong"?

Notice how we never see Shaggy & Scooby's encounter with "King Kong"? Yeah, I remember that always bugging me as a kid! Similar thing happened in "Wednesday is Missing" I believe. They bring up how they had an encounter with a mummy quite a bit in that episode, yet we never actually see this.
