Time to give my two cents of this movie! I'm hyped and shocked that were getting a conclusion to the 13th Ghost, which in my opinion is an underrated series. I'm a little disappointed that the movie seems to have the same comedic tone as the more recent movies like Gourmet Ghost. The 13th ghost design looks like it would have fit perfectly in the show and that a plus for me. Flim-flam is coming back which is meh to me. Wasn't the biggest Flim fan, though I wonder if Scrappy is coming back. Final thoughts, the movie looks great and I can't wait for Feb 5 and also this movie is going to upset a lot of shippers. Wasn't 13 Ghosts more comical than serious too? I laughed the most with that series than any other Scooby series. I mean look at all the fourth wall breaking they did during that series. I'm honesty hoping they do with this film too, that was one of my favorite aspects of it Ask for shipping, never took it seriously in Scooby Doo. As it is I feel Daph/Fred shipping is so flipping forced in the newer films.

I think because 13 Ghosts raised the stakes higher than previous Scooby incarnations, a lot people have Mandela Effected themselves into thinking the show was some epic fantasy horror cartoon. This new movie actually looks closer to that than the original show was.

It's kind of interesting when you look back, 13 Ghosts was one of the examples where HB let their main characters interact with something outside their norm. The tone of 13 Ghosts was silly and over-the-top at the same time where Scooby had bad guys that in some cases would have been legitimate threats to someone like Jonny Quest or Space Ghost. One the most clever bits to 13 Ghosts I think was how annoyed some of the ghosts got when the gang or bogel and weerd went into comedy routines. The trailer here seems to so far make this last ghost seem like a decent threat, but given the movie's clearly showing their affection to older shows a lot I wonder if they'll throw back to that at some point. Like where Shaggy and Scooby do something very silly and 13 ghosts esque and it just drives him crazy.
Watching the trailer for the (insert number here) time, two things i'm curious about. 1. What exactly is happening with wherever Flim Flam, Freddy and Velma are? It looks like light coming out of a pot? 2. In the scene with the same three in the red van, it looks like they are being chased by another vehicle that is glowing green? The 13th ghost is seemingly red themed. If i'm correct in that judgment who's driving that car?

It has always fascinated me when people are like "13 Ghosts was so dark and creepy and just like a horror movie!" Uh, no, it was a silly and goofy little show that included higher stakes and realer danger (to an extent, still bugs the crap out of me that Rankor goes into the chest almost willingly).

I don't know how anyone can watch the Department of TV No-Nos scene and think "This is the serious Scooby-Doo"

But here are my answers to your questions: 1. From what I can see, that beam of light is probably coming from the chest of demons. 2. Weerd and Bogel? Dark lord Scrappy Doo? Vincent Van Ghoul's new ride? Nepalese traffic police?

On 1, I think you're right in that whatever that is it's coming either from or around the chest of demons.
2 and 3 are up in the air. It does look like they are going to be split up at points, but that car in the background with a glow just seems strange. It could be just the 13th ghost possessing or bringing it alive, but I still would think it should be glowing red then given everything about him in the trailer is red coded.

In case anyone is wondering, this movie is being written by Tim Sheridan whose only other involvement in the Scooby Doo franchise was the writer for Scooby Doo and the Gourmet Ghost. I'm probably safe to assume that this movie will probably have the same vibe as the previous one.

If anyone's seen his twitter, we probably will be seeing more of him. He said he (either literally or metaphorically) begged to be able to write this movie because 13 Ghosts was among his favorites. Which is probably a sign of who made sure so many little elements from the show are present in the trailer.

Thanks Matt, that's good to know. Hopefully he will make sure that it stays relatively true to the original series then.

I think this has to do with the ghost being real and the danger and the ghost intentions to be more evil and life threatening even though the show in my mind is one of the more light hearted series.

I think this is the only Scooby Doo official media to have created a shipping war between fans. The comment section for the trailer on Youtube has some people arguing about romance between characters. I'm somewhat curious to know if this has ever happend before.
Also, to those who are on the Shaphne side, go into this movie thinking its going to be Fraphne. I feel like some people are going to be upset about this whole shipping thing in this movie and then condemn it for not being their preference.

Being honest from what i've seen over the years, I think the "shipping scene" has been pretty much been existent within a part of the community of Scooby. (and in some cases his larger library when people want to do crossovers) At the same time though only rarely does it ever reach any kind of argument outside of a few corners of the internet. Here at Scoobyaddicts we do honestly represent the community of the most up-to-date on news but also the wider types of fans. We don't always agree with one another, but we mostly keep it civil. But when it comes to imagining which characters may or may not be in a relationship some of us just are never going to see eye to eye.
At the same time on certain other places I don't think it's surprising if it sometimes boils over. I think one of the major advantages Scooby and friends enjoy is that they appeal to a wide variety of different types of people. Some of those people don't always naturally flock together and sometimes comments on a youtube page are the right mix to bring two people who both love Scooby Doo but will argue all night and day over issues such as those.

For fun and frolics I looked at the FanFiction Shaphne forums, they've already decided that the film will be terrible.
