I'm guessing there will be other variant covers? Oh yeah. But it's a bit zombie so for the younger views, it's behind spoiler tags

OK, that's it. I've officially had it up to hear with this pitiful excuse for a character they DARE present as an improvement to Scrappy-Doo. I have never, ever, ever, had a desire to see Scrappy hurt in any shape or form. So when my heart leapt for joy when Daphne pistol whipped this guy, I knew that they could not truly be one and the same, because I love Scrappy and I loathe this guy. And, seriously, stop it with the creepy come-on lines to Daphne. Just...ew. This comic has enough problems without them starting some twisted relationship. Excuse me while I go bleach my brain.

This is horror, Fred has just been disemboweled, people have been eaten alive, we've seen parts of people that were never intended to see daylight. This is not a remake of 13 Ghosts or some other fluffy Shaggy/Scooby/Scrappy cartoon, this is a horror story. The smart dog program was to produce cybernetically enhanced dogs for the military not cute puppies to cuddle. They were enhanced killing machines, a weapon system.

Actually i felt the exchange between the two of them was what Daphne wanted to say in MI before Fred cut her off. It's not creepy dialogue. Scrappy's just being up front with Daphne about the whole thing. He never was Cliffy's puppy, he was always Daphne's. I assume that Daisy was meant to be googie's replacement, and Cliffy was Flim Flam's. This explains a lot of why in the 80's series Scrappy and Daphne were paired off and why him wondering off with Shaggy & Scooby or Flim Flam was akward (and i'm starting to think when Fred guest starred back then he deliberately sent Scrappy elsewhere because he hates the action girl upgrade Daphne got). Scrappy taught Daphne how to become the Action oriented team mom of the group and Daphne taught Scrappy how to tone down his boisterousness. It's just a sorted of "fire forged friendship." For future issues...here's a warning you should note. This is the DC Universe...The D= Dark, Dead and Detective. It only meant delightful prior to 1985.

What makes you think Apocalypse is in anyway a reboot of Reluctant Werewolf or 13 Ghosts? They may borrow themes from the shows but IMO you're reading too much into that.

I didn't say I thought it was a reboot, I just said that I thought Scrappy's and Daphne's exchange was reminscent of how the relationship in the 80's appeared and come on Cliffy and Daisy just look and act similar enough to be re-imagined versions since no other kids or blonde gals with little personality were ever around MI long.
What i really think though is something weirder. Scooby Apocalypse is the crisis leading to the Kommandi time.

Sorry, I misunderstood the point you were making> I guessed that in some respects Cliffy was a nod to Flim-Flam but never watched enough of The Reluctant Werewolf to draw any connection with Daisy. As for Daphne and Scrappy's relationship... well that makes her and Velma's look warm and friendly.
