I have yet to see Scoobynatural, but allegedly Castiel (I think that's his name, I don't watch Supernatural) talks about the great strength of laughter in danger that Shaggy and Scooby showed...
Erm, what? Can someone explain that to me? That doesn't sound like Shaggy and Scooby at all. I mean, it's touching and sweet...but it's not what they do. Am I missing something?

I guess I assumed it meant when Scooby and Shaggy dress up and be silly to fool the ghost/monster, but honestly IDK.

Probably their general goofing around, why don't you just watch the episode and decide for yourself. Failing that there ate enough clips of it on YouTube to allow you to pretty much watch the whole thing end-to-end.

Finally got to see it, and I thought it was cool how Sam and Dean got zapped into "A Night of Fright is No Delight," and how Dean was aware of it and pointing out what was going to happen. It was pretty interesting seeing the episode get a big-budget beef-up. I wasn't too big on how the ghosts were depicted though; I prefer their original black faces with orange eyes and mouths. But it could be a given, given how different this one was. And it wasn't the same without many of the classic sound effect heard in the original episode, like "Castle Thunder" in the opening storm, or Big Ben chiming for the grandfather clock, but what can you say to a show that's normally done in live-action? I loved Dean reacting with the others' catchphrases (except Fred, of course) with "Son of a b****!" (I was half-expecting Fred to do something like in the "Samurai Sword" movie.) I also loved how they used the original theme song; seems it doesn't get a lot of love nowadays (Warner Bros. seems to prefer "What's New Scooby-Doo" as the main theme song for the franchise now ). And they threw in the "Scooby Dooby Doors" bit, which the real episode DIDN'T have. I also enjoyed when Sam and Dean told the Mystery Inc. gang the truth about the ghost, and Fred started banging his head against the tree! And I enjoyed Dean mentioning some of their past mysteries. Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit! It was a parody in the style of "Bravo Dooby Doo" or "Night of the Living Doo," and many of you know I'm a sucker for a good Scooby-Doo parody.

A theme in a lot of cartoons, from Scooby-Doo to Mighty Max, is that the characters get through hardship by baring a burden together, and telling jokes in the meantime. I worry that it can get lost on kids who aren't learning work ethic from the message, but interpreted correctly, it's a good moral.
