JCB Q&A

The way I see it, Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphne don't have to be that much older. the oldest Fred and Shaggy really have to be is 36, and Velma can top off at 34. Also the idea is similar to the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm show where the classic gang get reduced to supporting roles while their offspring take center stage. If that Daphne and Velma movie lives up to our fears about it, then Shaggy and the others three don't even need to appear in every episode. Scooby of course can only appear in flashbacks or as a spirit. It doesn't make sense to me if in the actual show or animated films Scooby doesn't appear, he's the main character along with Shaggy pretty much. I hope they at least get cameos some how telling the origin. He'd appear but he wouldn't be alive anymore. He's a dog, they don't live that long.

basically Shaggy's scenes should be split between him interacting with his and Velma's kids, or Velma or Scooby's spirit (visiting from Dog Heaven). Think how funny it would be for Scooby to forget that he's now Deceased and get scared by the thought of a ghost being present, not realizing that HE is the ghost. Scooby could interact from beyond the grave with his grandpup, who would fill the role of the main dog, giving ghostly guidance to his descendant.

Only because this is a JCB Q&A thread will I comment on this, but I'm afraid WB would never go for a new SD series that stars a dead Scooby Doo returning from the grave to be afraid of himself. People in marketing tend to frown on killing off beloved franchise characters that they've been making money off of for 50 years (minus the two BCSD years, of course).

I think we should all just take a moment to appreciate how interesting it is that somehow we've gone from asking JCB questions, to talking about a show where Scooby's dead and has to become self-aware of his demise. That's not random at all lol.

By now, I think Scooby goes by human aging or is immortal since the gang are now adults and Shaggy had Scooby since they were kids in the main WB continuity.

I didn't like Velma/Shaggy pairing in the MI series though, I'm glad that never came to be. No offence creators. The relationships were dysfunctional to the core. I nearly gave up watching it after the end of the first half as it had become a soap opera not Scooby Doo. I like the Shaggy/Velma pairing but it was just nasty in SD:MI.

According to the solicitations Fred Jones dies in the next issue of Scooby Apocalypse.

Maybe Scooby can accidentally drink a longevity formula that adds 40 extra years to his lifespan.

he ate magical dog biscuits in Get A clue so maybe that's why hes still around. as for Scooby being a ghost, not going to happen. You can have ancestor Doos be ghosts, and we've seen that before. But a main character, if not THE main character? No way.

Since Scooby can talk and do many other human things, he can also live as long as a human as well...

My theory is that on a visit to Quest Labs, Scooby ingested a formula that extended his lifespan an extra 50 years.

I refer you to the Q&A where I made it clear that the entire Scooby franchise is merely the coma dream of the late Anwar Sadat. It all makes sense that way.

If this is still running, I was wondering if the show was mainly animated in ToonBoom. I recall a Twitter leak of Scooby and Shaggy running for like three seconds and I swear ToonBoom was the only running app in the taskbar. It would be neat to know this, another member was asking me to confirm but I can't find the old Twitter clip. Thanks for any help.

I'm guessing by this line in the Deadline article that it just means the last 11 episodes will be added to the streaming service in the US (they still haven't been yet).
