At first I thought it looked worse than I expected (cheesy and disney-ish, filled with gender stereotype and cringe-worthy lines) but now that I put myself in the right mindset (after watching it several times) it looks cute and interesting silly plot.

I fully agree with this. Doesn't seem like it will be over-the-top amazing, but after a few watches of the trailer, it actually looks silly and cute. Hopefully it will be enjoyable.

I'm not a fan of the live action movies. I hope they do this well.

I just find odd that Fred's not involved in this, not to mention its random that Shaggy and Scooby to be taken out of a film, they've been in every series and film from 80s to now. If it doesn't make money due to Shaggy and Scooby not being present, than what? Well this is set before Mystery Incorporated is a thing. Until some brave soul watches the film you don't know if the boys or Scooby will put in an appearance. My guess is that if they do it will be at the very end for the film and it'll be a small thing like a Shaggy-type voice calling out 'Scooby' or Daphne and Velma finding an Ascot on a desk. This is a Daphne and Velma origin movie, not a Shaggy, Scooby, Fred, Daphne and Velma origin story - that was Curse of the Lake Monster. Well than, I hope Fred and Shaggy get there own origin films too soon. A lot of things can be done with live action Shaggy, one moment he can have a rich family with an interesting History like what happened with the 80s series. And, do we know anything about Fred's past? MI series don't count.

Here's the back cover for the DVD set. Note that the back cover also credits Vanessa Marano as "main cast".

It actually doesn't look that bad to me. Except I REALLY hope that we don't have another "Robovarious" incident...because I still am getting deja vu...

Think, Live Action Movie. So this summary is talking about how students are going blank shells of their former selves, and how Tobias Bloom is suspiscious, right? Just how when the vacationing students got their souls stolen on Spooky Island, and turned into shells of their former selves, and Mondavarious is to blame, but then he was actually a robot and you know what happened? This reminds me so much of how that was set up. I really hope that it isn't like that again...

SolzyAtTheMovies (a film review blog) has given us tons of new info on the film! I'm guessing the author saw the film through the Hollywood premiere (as it appears she's a professional film critic looking at her site) , which was on April 7. Vanessa Marano will be playing Carol, Daphne and Velma's senior advisor. Additional cast members include Ardin Myrin as Principal Piper, Adam Faison as Spencer, Brooks Forester as Tobias Bloom, and Steven Ruffin and Evan Castelloe with currently unannounced roles. IDMb also now lists these actors after the Hollywood red carpet premiere of the film. IDMb hasn't been known to be 100% reliable, but since a lot of these people can be seen in the trailer and are confirmed in the Solzy article, I think we can *probably* trust this list. Daniel Salyers as Mike (in the trailer), Courtney Dietz as Mikayla Martin (unconfirmed), Evan Castelloe as Griffin Griffiths (in Solzy article), Steven Ruffin as Nathan (in Solzy article), Fray Forde as Rider (unconfirmed), Jessi Goei as Olivia (unconfirmed), Lucius Baston as Mr. Nussbaum (unconfirmed), Millie Polock as Two-Mop Maggie (in the trailer), Tucker Desmond as Skater (unconfirmed), Bryce Mayfield as (TBA - unconfirmed) and Quandae Stewart as (TBA - unconfirmed). The SolzyAtTheMovies review also reveals that the film will stick with the canonical names for Daphne's parents (which were from The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show and A Pup Named Scooby-Doo). Nedley and Elizabeth will be portrayed by Brian Stepanek and Nadine Ellis (the latter from IMDb). Nadine Ellis playing Daphne would also fit with the speculation that Daphne is interracial in this film (as that would make her mom African-American and her father Caucasian). Film editor Kristina Davies also lends her voice as the "Shame Drone," which I must say is possibly the best name for a character ever haha. Particularly amusing they'd throw that in given all the fan assumptions that the film is just being made by feminists who want to shame everyone. Wouldn't be surprised if that's what they were responding to. I'm super excited for this film! It may not be super mature and intense, but it sounds like it will be still a fun, silly little movie. www.solzyatthemovies.com/2018/04/08/daphne-and-velma-life-before-scooby-doo/
