I've been skeptical of Lillard in the past. His debut was on 2002, he's got the stigma of not being Casey Kasem, however I'm happy to report that I was wrong. Thus far, he's done a well job with Shaggy; Mask of the Blue Falcon and Phantosaur are good examples. The interviews on Youtube are pretty educational and I do recommend them. These clips are always good for a laugh or two. youtu.be/61MGFgSBd50?t=1m29syoutu.be/Mhpcl_XxxCs?t=2m40sNot to discredit him, but it's pretty funny hearing him pick fun at himself. Anyhow, I like Mathew Lillard now and I find it odd how he didn't have a subboard until now.

I think you probably enjoy Matthew Lillard more since Casey Kasem died in 2014.

Scott Innes is a commercial voice actor at best, keep him in 200X the video games and off anything else please. Nick Palatas was a mistake imo. I can't think of anyone who hasn't tried Shaggy is better than those two. I'm curious to see what a Frank Welker Shaggy would be just because that was the role he signed up for in the first place but i dunno how that'd work outside experimentation Who would your contender for non-lillard shaggy be? I cant think of one really

Billy West was awesome for Zombie Island. I'd argue it would have been less scary had it been Kasem or Innes. I tried to ask Innes about why Billy West was chosen for Zombie Island but he didn't want to address that question during his online interview.

I still say Matthew Lillard is a great Shaggy. I think in the live-action theatrical movies, Lillard was probably the best actor out of them all. So I was pleased when they announced Matthew Lillard would become the new voice for the animated Shaggy. It was a refreshing change too, as during the 2000s Casey Kasem's Shaggy voice was pretty tired and weak, compared to the 70s and 80s. Lillard's Shaggy voice brings back that energy into Shaggy.

Kasem was aging and his voice had lost the spark that he had had when he was younger. but thats true of most voice actors, the ones like Ian Mackellan and Christopher Lee who retain their power of their voice deep into their 70s and 80s (in Lees case, his 90s) are rare. Patrick Stewart, by contrast , has lost much of the power of his voice.

It's very surprising that Frank Welker still retains his Fred Jones voice to this day. Is he getting close to age 80 at this point?

I never realized this before but I don't think I'll enjoy Scooby Doo shows without Welker. He's the glue to all the new series that use new casting other than him. I grew up with multiple Velmas, Shaggys, Scoobys, Daphnes and Scrappys but Fred has always been Fred.

Welker is the last connection to the original Scooby. I could see Welker playing fred for at least 10 more years, health permitting, but at some point we're going to need a new Fred.

If you've got ideas, I'm all ears. Frank is one of a kind, we'll totally have to live with the fact that we won't get another one, so get creative with it!
