To me I keep seeing references throughout Be Cool Scooby Doo to the older shows. So far I've spotted: Mystery 101: Ghost of Elias Kingston references Scooby Doo Where Are You: What the Hex is Going On Where There's a Will There's a Wraith is a remake of SWAY A Night of Fright is No Delight In Space had the remake of SWAY Space Kook Game of Chicken had remake of Captain Cutler Some Fred Time had remake Demon Shark from SDS Norse Case Scenario seemed to reference SDS Curse of Viking Lake Mouth of Madcap seemed similar to Gjost Clown from SWAY Bedlam in the Big Top and WNSD Terrifying round with Menacing Clown Grand Scam was a remake of WNSD The Unnatural The location of Silver Scream seemed like Sant Duncan's Mr Jekyll and Hyde
Have you guys noticed any others?

I don't know if I would call Grand Scam a remake of The Unnatural. There aren't too many similarities I can think of off the top of my head other than them both being baseball themed.

Yes, bringing back and/or recontextualizing older monsters from other SD series was something that we wanted to play with here and there. We made a large chart with pictures of all the monsters from the first few years of "classic" SD and primarily used it to AVOID using the same monsters accidentally, but also to find ones that we COULD play around with. There are a couple episodes that are, in fact, sorta updates on classic episodes, like "Wraith" and "Madcap" was a general attempt at capturing a classic Scooby feel, but, for the most part, unless the monster is clearly the same (like Space Kook) or named (like Kingston and Cutler), any similarities between monsters or environments is more accidental or coincidental (like Dorsal Foot) and we weren't specifically referencing past episodes on purpose. Sometimes we were aware there was an old monsters not unlike one we wanted to use, but we didn't care that much. It's hard writing a continuously running 50 year-old show and trying to ground it with its classic original kinds of locations and monsters and not landing in the same places others landed during that 50 years. We just hoped that watching our new characters and tone would keep it interesting.
