I liked this one, but in my opinion the mystery was predictable (specially because it's quite similar to an WNSD episode). I loved Velma speaking portuguese "Qual é este livro?", it was adorable. And how she was able to reveal the tricks was funny. So, it's not the best, but it's enjoyable.

I actually loved this episode, i consider it to be one of my favorites of the whole show. I felt that the monster was actually really creepy, especially with the backstory of how it was possessed by the devil/a demon. The mystery didn't bother me either! because it was a reference to the What's new scooby doo episode "The vampire strikes back" which also features the part about twins looking at each other, instead of it being the reflection of a mirror. But the best part of the episode, was when shaggy and scooby went on a long scientific logic rant about how the monster always chases after them. I also liked how it seems like the villains got away this time, because of their magic abilities. Every joke in the episode worked, and i felt like i laughed at all of them. This episode also overall just really fun to watch, because as a kid, i always watched a show called "Breaking the Magician's code" which featured a masked magician preforming tricks, and revealing secrets, one of his tricks was almost identical to how fred makes the mystery machine disappear at the end of the episode!!!

I like references, but I feel like the reference to "The Vampire Strikes Back" made the episode very predictable. I love all the other things in this episode, but with a surprising end, it could have been even better. And they used to air this tv show about the magicians' secrets in Brazil, it's called "The Magician of All the Magicians" right here. I used to love it when I was a kid.

This was a great episode. Fred's magician persona was great, Daphne's do-to-list was great. I wonder if anything on their will come up in future episodes. The solution wasn't my favorite but the other ones have been great so I don't mind.
There was a lot else I liked about it but I can't think of everything. Fred being in water the entire chase scene was cool, Shaggy and Scooby were funny when they tried to get the monster to not chase them. My favorite part was the very ending though where Fred made the van vanish.
An episode where Fred "enters a magic competition" was something I hoped for, so it was great to see that actually happen.

Another favorite, possibly top 5! I love how the monsters in season 2 are super unique, great job JCB! Oh, and the chase scene was pretty intense, especially with Fred's life actually being threatened. Great job!

I didn't like it. Maybe I'll rewatch it and give a detailed opinion.

I'm glad everyone liked this one. Kyle Stafford, our editor, is also a great writer and I was lucky that he was interested in writing for the show. He knew the show better than almost all the freelancers because he edited every single one of them. He also has a very silly sense of humor so we peed ourselves laughing as we were coming up with the story ideas. All of his episodes have a lightness, a fun silliness that make them stand out to me. I like that the show can go darker like "Too Not Disturb" or "Madcap," but also just be frothy, silly fun - and still feel like the same show.
As usual, it's ideal that the mystery is interesting and the bad guy a surprise, but I actually didn't see or know about the vampire WNSD episode you guys are talking about. I had no idea we were doing something that was already done. It was not a reference, just a coincidence. It's REALLY hard, considering the 50 year history, to come up with ANY original ideas for "a bad guy wearing a monster mask is committing a crime" story without repeating yourself. Just like it's hard to find a new location or environment. Our approach was just to do the best we could with that stuff, but lead with the new characters - so even IF the location, the monster or the solution was something that was done before, the WAY our characters behave and interact and the fact that they usually have a personal stake in solving the mystery will always be the focus and keep the shows entertaining and unique.

well, both episodes feature the same kind of clue, a mirror that actually ends up being a twin brother. it's a really cool coincidence, i was convinced it was an intentional reference to the other episode of WNSD

That really IS a strange coincidence! Just goes to show you how trying to come up with anything new for a traditional Scooby series is tricky. Then again, I honestly really didn't sit down and watch every single episode of every Scooby series ever made. IF i had, it probably would have frozen me, unable to write anything if anyone already did anything like it already - and SO many things have been done. Part of the problem, also, is there are certain expectations for what a Scooby Too series should be and people really seem to like it when there's some of those old school flavors woven into the series. We were doing such radical things with the characters (not to mention the Mystery Machine, itself), that we really wanted to ground it in the original 1969 SCWAY series where we could.

Watched it again. Still meh. The sharpness of some jokes is good tho. Shaggy and Scooby are surprisingly becoming the best characters of a tv show ever. Btw I was waiting for them to sabotage the chase scene. I was waiting for it since Renn Scare when they showed their concern abaout the monster always following them. I knew it was going to come but not in this way. I actually thought the monster would have actually followed Fred, Daphne and Velma and Shaggy and Scooby would have been so shocked but felt so empty and would regret about not being chased

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It felt a little shorter in runtime that most of the others with only 1 truly stand out scene but the whole was definitely better than the sum of its parts.
Although the bunny monster didn't actually have much of an impact on the episode it looks as creepy as hell, especially when it is first revealed in the teaser. The mystery was interesting enough, even if it was extremely easy to figure out thanks to the WNSD episode mentioned above aaaand the fact that I immediately noticed Saul's reflection was missing a tooth haha I kind of spoiled it for myself. Still, I was entertained throughout and the hocus pocus palace was an excellently brought to life with stellar animation (something that has continuously improved imo).
The stand out scene aforementioned was the short part with shaggy and scooby stopping the chase to figure out which way they should run, to avoid the monster! Something like this was always going to happen but I wasn't expecting it there and Shaggy's mathematical jibbering was pretty damn funny as it all amounted to them still being chased and having to act their way out of trouble again.
Highly reccomend this episode! One of the silliest yet

I'd thought the references to that What's New Scooby Door episode were intentional as well. It is possible that people have seen the episode in the past but not consciously remembered it when writing this show. Or its an example of convergent evolution of plots, can I have my PhD now please?
Either way it was a fun episode, Daphne's obsession of the week worked well, Velma exposing all the tricks were fun, the chase discussion was a clever touch and I liked the Shaggy/Scooby/Velma live bait act.

This episode was fun but not a standout. The Hocus Pocus Palace was very original and so was the demon bunny. The overall plot was just good. Shaggy and Scooby's scene was standout
