For starters...I liked this episode. It was funny and it was nice with a silent film ghost. But I also felt sad because we didnt see the hollywood sign once... and the sign is the sign for Hollywood...and I really wanted to see it. I didnt got that amazing feeling that I hoped for. I have been looking forward to this episode since I found out about it. I loved the plot and synopsis. I loved it because I have always liked hollywood and it such a special place for me. The hollywood sign is a big piece of that puzzle for me. So I felt it was wrong to not show the sign. Hollywood is not the same without that! I will always be greatful to the creators that did this episode. They did a hollywood episode! <3 Thank you for that. This epiosde will always have a special place in my heart because it's hollywood and it was a good one. Hollywood is that kind of place that dreams come true and it will always be my favorite place! /Peter

Well, the actual "Hollywood" sign isn't really near the studios and is more of a Southern California landmark that we, here, at least, don't really connect with filmmaking. There would be no real contextual reason to have shown the sign. It would be like showing the Statue of Liberty just because a show takes place in New York even if the story takes place nowhere near the statue. Things like that are often used in montage to establish a location and there was just no need for that in this episode.
Glad you liked it, though. I thought it was a fun episode.

the Hollywood sign is deeply ingrained with acting and filmmaking- in the public conscious jcb. it is a very famous symbol of your industry. just as people associate the statue of liberty with America and its ideals. the Hollywood sign also is associated with acting, both on screen and on tv. people working in the business may not think of it that much, in that way, but we as fans do.

Perhaps, but, again, there was no filmic or story reason to show the sign in this episode.

Sign or no sign, I would see no difference in the episode. What a tempest in a teapot. Loved Daphne and her tour-guiding stuff, and how Velma chose to go with Shaggy and Scooby. It wasn't my favorite episode, but still a great one.

This was a pretty good episode. Really enjoyed the Hollywood studio and monster. Cool references to film. Humor and mystery were just alright. 8/10
