I just thought of this, I wonder why Hanna- Barbera studios is able to release Josie and the Cats the complete series, and they weren't able to release the Josie and the Cats episode of The New Scooby Doo Movies? BTW, I know I spelled the Josie's band name wrong, as you might know, it puts in something even worse if I spell it right.

That is odd. I also noticed they removed Batman and Robin from the opening credits even though WB owns Batman.

Here's my guess. The "New Scooby-Doo Movies" DVD was released March 2005. The "Josie" complete series DVD wasn't released until September 2007. Two 1/2 years later.
I'm guessing something that was a sticking point in the licensing negotiations in 2005 was resolved by 2007. What that was, who knows.
I do know that "Josie" is actually owned by the creators of the comic Archie. HB just licensed the characters for its cartoon.
Like I said, these are just guesses though.
