Loved it. It finally starts to gain a new rythm. At least they're not staying at the hospital for 4 issues.. I really enjoyed the characters in this one even tho Daphne is being too moody. The only thing bothering me was the unusual mutation of character designs in the middle of the issue. It was going great with an unsettling dark tone in a few scenes but then with the style alteration it became too cartoony.

Initially I thought it was a bit of a retrograde step with Daphne and Velma back to their old bickering ways but it soon picked up. The odd bit you mention was strange but I'm wondering if it's a nod to some sci-fi or horror movie. One thing we do know is that either Velma is a medical genius or Fred didn't have a complex fracture.

Truth be told, I expected much more from this issue. Monster doctor was creepy, but monster nurses (like the summary mentioned) would be far creepier. In terms of plot, I did like how the summary was wrong and Velma actually cared about Fred's well-being, it's another step towards the team bonding. What I didn't quite like is the two of them (Velma and Fred) being out of the action - it's logical though. Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne's investigation was a good part, and when they found the monster doctor, it got a lot more creepy!! The whole hospital-being-monster-staff-melted-into-the-building thing was a bit out of context, I think. Sure, I accept that it was a hallucination (either from stress of the characters or something the doctor did), but it seemed silly at frist. But the more I think of it, the creepier it seems. Anyway, the ending set up a good plot for the next issue, titled "Velma's Secrets Exposed!". I hope they handle the Daphne/Velma bickering (to borrow russum's vocabulary) well. As far as the art is concerned, I was disappointed that Porter wouldn't do it, but Eaglesham is okay, so the first pages were fine, a few good frames, some rather odd ones and the scene with the human parts laying all over was digustingly cool (yes, I'm a freak ). But Wagner's art in the second half was a total disaster. Sure, his art may be excellent for other comics, but not for a comic as dark as Scooby Apocalypse. It's too cartoony, and I'm talking about the gang's designs, cause the monsters were okay. Overall, I'd give this a 2/5. I was a bit let down by a few things, especially the art. I hope Eaglesham does the art alone for #9.

I found the art inconstant as well, the latter half especially, how many different styles of glasses does Velma have anyway? According to DC Comics website Eagelsham is doing the art for #9 while Porter is doing the art for #10

Finally an issue where stuff happens! This felt the most developed by far and it almost seemed like two issues as they had so much story packed in. I thought the issue itself was quite good. The fact that we see an alive human really opens the doors for secondary characters and villains to appear. I loved seeing some Daph/Scooby/Shaggy team-up, my three favourite fictional characters should always be together! The monster had a boring design, but the hospital coming alive made up for that. I wonder was it a reference to that episode of What's New where the house comes alive?I agree with you all on the art design though, the shift was so random. Also when they tried to be cartoony in the comic it didn't really work, sound effects aren't funny when you read them!
