Why in the world does velma flirt with Shaggy all the time?! I just saw the beginning to this series and it is really disturbing me. Somebody called it similar to fanfiction and I'm seeing why.

its not fanfiction. Fan fiction is better than the effort MI put into these relationships.

Velma is obviously VERY interested in shaggy. Almost to the level of stalker.

Yah, in my opinion, that was my least favorite aspect of that series. Really made Velma look bad.

Well, Scooby was really really left out of the relationship wheel- he was the 5th wheel. And Velma became a control freak while she was dating Shaggy.

i agree with russm. this was one part of MI that stunk the only good relationship was the one between Marcie and Velma.

So true, in my opinion even Fred / Daphne relationship wrote them awful. I like Scooby shows when the characters are just friends, if the writers can't work it right any ways.

FRed/Daphne is just cliche, at this point. Daphne-Shaggy or Velma-Fred or even Daphne-Velma, but try something that hasnt been done 500 times previously.

Anyone else think Velma in SDMI is similar to her sister Madelyn in Abracadabra Doo? (Especially in regards to Shaggy). Can’t help but think they may have drawn a bit from that. Shame they didn’t bring her into the series at some point.

I prefer the Shelma relationship allusions from the main continuity. The main universe canon allows them to be more compatible.

That's one of the reasons why I really liked BCSB. The "relationships/teen soap opera" was completely removed and it was a good thing (for more comedy & storytelling). In SD:MI, they really butched it to a point that it wasn't even interesting to go with. They should have been more subtle and not stalling the story. It's not like they couldn't do any DTV/spedial exploring that angle. The same thing happened with the Dr Who/Rose relationship and BBC had no other choice than having a crappy story ending this so the series could move on.
