Possibly if the character was written well. I didn't mind Marcie for the two episodes in SDMI.

for the purposes of this discussion. i don;t think it can suit much above 6. althoyugh the various forms the Mystery Machine can turn into, definitely have a Magic school bus vibe to them. It fit the whole Harlem globetrotters and the gang at one point.

I was thinking that the mystery machine has always been just that A MYSTERY MACHINE. That's why it gives off the MSB vibes, just long as Fred doesn't start coming up with nonsensical names for the van's parts (although i'm surprised he doesn't have a shrinker scope, those things are just as useful as mesmer-globbers which he appears to have at least six of, btw a mesmer-globber is a type of transforming device). This is why the mystery machine can fit as little as three or as many as they like at times. It's a mystery as to how it does that

marcie was in more than 2 episides doo. Sorry, I meant she was only officially part of the gang for two episodes ("House of the Nightmare Witch" and "Tears of Doom").

I'd still rather that either it stays at five or we used the three that were around long enough to actually be part of the gang if anyone was added. Even if it was only for the purposes of a particular dvd. Scrappy,Vince and Flim Flam (and i have written a fanfic where i do include Scrappy and Flim as part of MI, Vince is too cool to be tied down so he's over ALL mystery solvers as their mentor but over time he will grow to become a member of Mystery Inc.) are the only ones who woule be useful in addition to the ones we've got. Flim Flam's tricks could be used to confuse baddies and I could see Fred being dense/smart enough to make Flim bait more than once even if Daphne would disapprove of making a child live bait Velma could always counter that because he's younger Flim is much faster and a little smarter than Shaggy and Scooby so he could not only outrun but outsmart the villains too. Scrappy would of course go with him so that he wasn't alone and Scrappy's use could just be the combat expert, i mean we are running into real villains every so often, they'll need a defense trainer, Vince could be the mentor like he was.

i think going to 6 is sufficient. flim flam and scrappy sorta replaced velma and fred really in 13 ghosts. vince's specialty is magic - he is considered the worlds most powerful magician in the series- therefore he would not appear very frequently.

Well yeah but...wouldn't you like it if Flim Flam met Fred and Velma? Scrappy got to meet everyone, Flim Flam and Vince didn't yet Flim and Vince are considered part of MI even if they don't appear that often.

it would be interesting, but i dont see velma having much patience for flim flam, and shes too science-oriented to believe in magic.

^That's why they meet Fred first. Flim Flam would probably get along great with Fred (considering that Fred used to be a total looney tune as a kid) and Fred could tolerate the magic to a degree, and then he might convince Velma to come to the realization that Shaggy & Daphne were on to something.

None, every time it's a 'man in a mask' or similar so as the saying goes extraordinary claims required extraordinary evidence. It just doesn't work in science Don't forget in the earlier shows Velma maybe skeptical but she did know a lot about the occult and other spooky stuff.

If written well, at least one other person could be added.
