That means we may have to buy those 2nd prints. lol. I'm down. Does that mean different cover art then? I thought they'd just crank out more of the same to meet the demand. It also shows that DC are quite responsive as it's been only a week since they were released.

Not sure of the link between DC and WB but having an animated version of Scooby Apocalypse could be a riot, but even if they started now you wouldn't see anything for a year or so. I would love this. Flipping through my copy, the art is really amazing.

I would love this. Flipping through my copy, the art is really amazing. Well, Marvel usually makes subtle changes like a second printing on the cover. So that's all I expect. Them making it clear it's the second printing. So nothing special but if you are a completist like me you'll probably want it.

My Mum's penfriend got the first issue, I'll see when he will ship it over here. But I have read the comic online (ReadComics.net has them up as soon as they are released), and I have to say, this was a very impressive start! I too liked that the story is unfolding slowly and we don't start right away with an armageddon (sth that, as I read, Wacky Raceland failed to do - or so I thought) and we were introduced to the characters and saw their first interactions. I'll start with Velma, since she was the first to be seen. It was really cool to see her as head of a secret facility - her brains could definitely handle it - and I liked how she apologised for what was to come. What I didn't fancy though was her calling Scooby "a failure" - Shaggy didn't like that either. However, she seems to have a good interaction with Scooby aside from that one moment. I loved how she calmed him down when he was ready to attack Fred and Daphne. Speaking of these two, it looks like they are way over their heads. Daphne is determined to get her audience back ("or die trying") and Fred, although he disagrees with her ways, stays by her side. I detect some Fraphne moments coming up, hope they're worth it. Poor Fred though, punch to the face was hard... But I liked the Pup reference with mole people, lol! Shaggy's the cool guy here, I like it. Still a loyal friend to his pal, absolutely LOVED the background stroy, "When Shaggy Met Scooby!", the end was so cute! About the whole "smoking hot babe" thing... Personally, I didn't really mind it. It may be offensive to call a woman "smoking hot babe" to her face right from their first encounter, but unfortunately, that's how most guys act. He also takes a liking to Velma in the background story (he called her "cute"), which I didn't mind either. I like how Shaggy's more of... more of a man in a way, I mean, he flirts and checks out the females around him instead of searching the nearest buffet. Scooby's new origin is pretty cool and more mature. A smartdog prototype, poor guy had a hard time... He's devoted to his friends, he protected Velma and stayed close to Shaggy, I can't wait to see him interact with Fred and Daphne as well! A lot of folks say that the puppy among the smartdogs that attack Scooby is Scrappy. I'm not sure, although it would make sense. A smartdog escaped from the Complex and gathered his own gang of mutated mutts, as we'll see in issue 2. I'm curious though as to his connection with Scooby: are they uncle and nephew? Were they transfered to the Complex together but later Scrappy was affected by the other smartdogs and turned against his uncle? Or is Scrappy not even a Doo? There are definitely lots of questions to be answered in the next issue, I'm looking forward to it!

perhaps they'll be a scene where Daphne and Velma discuss the boys in a similar fashion. Yeah, that sounds like it could happen later in the series, I'd like to see that. Gives a teenage approach to it as well.

Which cartoon era voices did you read the characters? Haha, I thought only I did that! I read them in the current cast, Lillard, Welker and DeLisle, but every time I started reading Velma thinking of Mindy's voice, Kate's always came out natural. I guess it's because I haven't heard Mindy doing Velma for some time now.

What I didn't fancy though was her calling Scooby "a failure" He we meant to meet certain requirements, and didn't, ergo a failure. Doesn't mean she, or anyone else in the complex doesn't like him but from a project requirement's point of view he is a failure. Technically you'd call him 'not compliant' or similar but that wouldn't have the same emotional impact.

As long as there's no Velma v.s. Scooby like in MI, it'll be fine.

Turns out that the Scooby Apocalypse comics can be found in Greece as well! Just yesterday, I got the free preview of all Hanna-Barbera series and the Scooby and Shaggy variants of #1! My Mum's penfriend has shipped the main cover, which will arrive soon, so I'll have 3 variants! As for the rest of the issues, I've sent him a link to order the second variant of #2, but I've also subscribed to the comic book store here so they can save an issue for me monthly (they have roughly a month's delay till they come here). I don't know what to do, I can ask the comic book store to keep me both covers for each issue or just one of them and order the other from him, but that's kinda rude and abusive towards him, he's a busy guy. I guess I can ask the store to keep me both covers.

COCOA Central Oregon Comics Outreach Alliance have a 30 mins podcast on Scooby Apocalypse #1. They discuss what they think of the book, story etc, there's an interesting revelation about Jim Lee and in the end all 5 contributors rate it a 'buy'.
