According to Variety, it is now titled 'Scooby', a much better title.

Freak, why such a late push back for the film? It's only Animation right? I don't get it.

Freak, why such a late push back for the film? It's only Animation right? I don't get it. Quality animation takes time. Even TV animated shows often take a year to produce. Big screen animation takes longer since it needs to look better onscreen. That's apart from setting up the plot and stoyboard and once that's a go they cast the VAs and record them. That's still a year before the movie is even animated.

Thanks SpiderScooby! This sort of confirms my theory about the movie being delayed so they could rewrite/redo a lot of the script.

Also IMDB has been updated with many more crew people Anyone with a Google account can edit IMDb and put whatever they want, so I'm not sure what's on there is entirely true. Thanks for the heads up though.

Also many crew members, to promote themselves, put their on credits on IMBD

I just thought "who would want to edit this just for the sake of messing up with us at this moment in time with the production?". Also many crew members, to promote themselves, put their on credits on IMBD Sorry, I hope my response didn't sound condescending. Yep, I am aware that the crew members add stuff to IMDb, though I guess I'm very cautious about trusting anything on there as it's basically like Wikipedia in the sense that anyone can add whatever they want whenever they want. The cynic in me says that this would be the perfect time for someone to mess with us. Chris Colombus was just announced as director, so a lot more people are checking IMDb. It would be the perfect time for someone to say "I'm gonna add that Justin Bieber is playing Fred and everyone will believe it!" (that's an extreme example, but you get the point that people can sometimes be jerks lol) because the page is getting higher traffic right now. Anywho, regardless, I hope what's on there is true. Thanks for sharing!

The Variety article tends to imply they are less looking at a Cinematic Universe and instead just plain using the library more widely. Which is probably the better decision. We are still talking about Hanna Barbera so it's not like you csn't do crossovers, but an overly preplanned "universe" isn't the HB kind of universe way of doing things anyway.
I was kind of already on the hopeful side but I admit after reading that article I am less worried than before.

Kinda glad that they are moving away from the Shared Universe idea. They probably saw how poorly Universal Monster Shared Universe did and how DC has just been meh and decided it was best to move away from that idea. Glad to see that were getting some news for this movie. Can't wait for the first trailer.

The Shared Universe was such a bad idea. Sure, having Scooby and the Gang interact with other HB characters is fine. Just don't build your entire movie around it.
