I'm on Cyber Chase now. They are out of high school. But for example later down the road a few movies later they are back in high school. So confusing. Lol.

Not all of these movies are connected. Like I would say golden WB era is its own universe while the Mystery Inc-type movies are their own universe.
With a franchise this big, with as many individual series's as Scooby Doo has, it would be almost impossible to maintain any kind of continuity that made sense.

Yeah, it's like in 1998-2001 movies they though well let's just finally age them. Then in 2002 decided that wasn't a good idea so they retconned them back to high school. Watching Moon Monster now and Daphne is taking a drivers test. So that's my theory at least. They decided to age them but after cyber chase decided to retcon them back to there old younger style.

It's not even that they decided to retcon the gang. You have to think about how many different people are in charge of these different series'/movies. Each form of Scooby media has its own team of creative minds and they decide how they want things. The original team didn't have the high school aspect while the Mystery Inc team decided they wanted the gang to be in high school. Now the Be Cool team obviously doesn't think that's necessary.
Like I said: it's hard for a franchise this big to have any kind of continuity because there are so many hands in the pot.

There is connectivity during the different eras (yeah, not so much Scrappy and Flim-Flam), it's just that the ages are never consistent.

If they continued to age the gang would be in their late 60's by now. After Scrappy joined the gang had presumably aged since the original, with them finishing schools and getting jobs. Shaggy and Daphne even moved in together, no 16 year old would do that. Pup Named Scooby Doo was set in the gang's early years, so the aging stopped. Zombie Island, Witch's ghost, Cyber Chase are all set in the gang's 20's-30's, while most if not all of the movies that have followed are set in the gang's original ages (Velma-15, Daphne-16, Shaggy & Fred-17, Scooby-7)

Personally I like it better when they are older. The themes are a little bit mature for scooby.

I liked it when they were older, but my main problem is that they seemed to return to their homeless, beach bum status when Daphne, Fred, and Velma had good jobs.

There is a simple way to get an idea of their ages, provided you have too much time on your hands. So for each show in which any of the gang have driven a vehicle find out what county they are in and the minimum legal age for driving that particular kind of vehicle in that country. Simple.
So, if any of them drove in Italy (which I think they all did in Pompeii & Circumstance) they all must have been 18 or older (if I read the internet correctly)

I'd assume they didn't do any research at all :-)

I prefer them being adults then teens. I view every show, series and productions as their on timeline/universe/canon. The 1998-2001 DTVs are a separate timeline from the main WB timeline. Both the 1998-2001 DTVs and the main WB timeline are also separate timelines/canons from the shows with Scooby, Scrappy, Shaggy and Daphne.

Some people don't consider SDMI to be separate, but you separate everything into its own group (someone else does this, too). It'd be a pain to maintain that on Scoobypedia. I'm glad I'm a bit more open minded than that.

It's just complicated regardless if you do what he does or not. Basically there is no universal continuity and canon that people would agree on to document on wiki. The creators are not alive anymore so it's not like they can answer for us. We can't ask them What do you consider the continuity? Sponge's way, others ways.. At the end of the day I think there is only one canon thing that you can say. In all the series, even though there's is debate in some. All 5 Main's love each other. They are friends forever. They have a bond. Now I've heard people say Velma is so cold to people in BCSD. I've heard people say in SDMI they don't feel a lot of love between the five. I disagree on both but I can see the opinion. But I think that's one universal thing in every Series, movie, special, DTV... The friendship.
