SPOILERZZZ
Nice epidode. Not one of the best tho. Loved Daphne tryna be a vampire and Fred dealing with the detective alligator. Even though it was easy to figure who the monster was he had a good motive. Enjoyed the throw-backs: Shaggy and Scooby (and Velma too) dealing with the hot sauces; Kingston University; Bayou Carnival etc. Loved the chase scene too.

I study French too (I'm taking the C2 exam this May), and I can't say I fancy it. But a new Scooby episode is always a new Scooby episode, so I watched it in French too. I have to admit, even though I've watched few Scooby episodes in French, I'm not used to their voices, so I couldn't recognise Daphne until the first 10 minutes of the episode when I wondered "Hey, what happened to her?". But her quirk must be hilarious in English, pretending to be a vampire! The alligator detective gag with Fred was funny, and the monster was really good. One of the best swamp/bayou episodes in my opinion. I'm sure I'll enjoy it more when I watch it in English.

I loved it more in English. It was so great! I think the Chomps the detective alligator should have been the culprit, though.

I wasn't that fond of Daph's quirk and Grey's typical gloomy/goth voice (although the second time when researching, I did find the "darken up" line funny). I admit, the moment I saw Duane/Dwayne, I couldn't help but figure he was the culprit. I liked Shaggy and Scooby's hot sauce challenge at the beginning and Fred's rivalry with Chomps, the town's hero. The chase scene is also fun and Jim Cummings as an New Orleans character wasn't as tired as I thought it would be.
Is the Swamp Monster based on Swamp-Thing or Man-Thing? Is the Gentleman Bandit based on Gentleman Ghost? And were there intentional allusions to "Which Witch is Which?"?

I love it when Velma grabs onto Daphne for support. Just shows how much they're there for one another.
