I was at Target yesterday looking at the DVDs, and to my surprise came across Scooby's All Stars Laff-A-Lympics Volume 1! This isn't even supposed to come out for like two weeks. I also saw Volume 4 of Scooby Doo: Where Are You. It is a Target Exclusive. The DVD comes with a downloadable copy of the episodes. What's weird about Laff-A-Lympics though, there was two price tags for it, and one of them said "Scooby's All Stars "V2", which I guessing means Volume 2 All they had was two copies of Vol. 1 so I can't confirm that though.

I was at Target yesterday and also saw a space listed for "V2" that was empty. Several copies of Laff-A-Lympics V1, but the V2 was empty.
I'm wondering if Target has some special arrangement because they have a lot of Scooby videos now. More than almost anywhere else. They've had $5.00 copies of the first 4 feature length movies (Zombie Island thru Cyberchase) for awhile now, and I mean lots of copies. And they keep selling through them all. (They're not in the DVD section though...they're always on an endcap over around housewares for some reason.) They also had Aloha and Samurai in last night too.
I'll have to check out that V4 of WAY. Does it actually have different episodes than those on the 3 full season discs, or is it just the download option that's unique?
I may hold off on Laff-A-Lympics for now. The first volume is one of those 'mini-sets' with only 4 episodes. Kind of like how they originally released WAY and A Pup. I may wait to see if a season set comes out later.

I was at Target tonight, and they did indeed have Volume 2 of the Laff-A-Lympics out already. Also has only 4 episodes.
Like I said, I think I'll wait and see if they eventually release the whole series as a single set. Only 24 episodes and at $9.99 per 4 ep set that would end up being around $60 for all of them.
Target seems to be the new home for Scooby!

Target is the new place for Scooby. It's where I got a lot of my Scooby movies. But 9.99 for only four episodes is nuts.

I agree that the 4 episode volumes are stupid, though I did pick up Vol 1 anyway since I had nver seen Laff-A-Lympics.

I thought it was being released on January 19? What is going on? And where did Volume 2 come from?

The only thing I can think of that Target has maybe struck some sort of special business deal with the manufacturer to release some items early and provide exclusive content. Haven't read of a special deal anywhere, but these early releases combined with the large quantities of Scooby video Target is carrying seem to indicate something's up. I mean, our 2 Target's have like 9 to 10 copies of Zombie Island each alone...and the same for some of the other DVD's. No one else is carrying that much inventory.
I'm actually more familiar with the music industry than film/animation, but I know a lot of bands are now releasing their new albums exclusively to certain stores. It's becoming a very common practice, so maybe the same kind of thing is happening here?
At any rate, I also was very surprised.

Mark I often browse another message board called DVDTalk to look for DVD deals and such. Usually the ads for stores like Target and Best Buy are posted the week before. forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-bargains/567683-target-weekly-ad-1-10-10-1-16-10-a.html
