Fresh off watching this... Gotta say, that was some awesome rad rocking movie!! I loved the whole idea of an alternate dimension based on KISS, the Crimson Witch was a terrifying and cool villain (I'm serious, her voice will haunt my dreams for the new week!), and none of the songs featured in the movie disappointed. Well, except for the new one. I had my hopes really high up for this... The KISS super powers were totally out-of-this-world, and the Demon's fire breathing was amazing!! A really great movie that had me pumped from beginning to end! Worth a watch for sure!! Don't kiss it -- er, miss it!

Maybe I'm just in a slump, because I rated moon monster low as well but this is one scooby movie that I don't think I'll revisit. Good points were the animation, I thought it was very well done. I also liked the portrayal of KISS, they really spruced them up, made them more appealing to a younger generation I think. Also felt like the Crimson witch was a pretty cool villain, definitely creepy.
I didn't like that the members of KISS were never mentioned by name. I know there has been line-up changes, and I know Criss probably would have thrown yet another fit, but I think Stanley and Simmons at least deserved a mention, for the sake of making KISS seem more real and relatable to younger audiences. I could have overlooked that but once KISS started flying around with superpowers and going to super KISS dimensions and planets I was done. I quit watching, barely even skimmed through the ending. That was too over the top and silly, reminded me of the cheesy antics that made me dislike KISS in the first place (which to be fair, may be the reason many people DO like KISS). And while I've never been a fan of their music, I was really disappointed in the "new song", I felt like that was a really cheap out and a way to generate hype. Also, overboard with the whole daphne/starchild thing. I would say before it got to the whole space travel thing I was about a 7-8 outta 10 on my rating, but it just took too much of a goofy dive for me. Maybe it's just my older age showing....but I do think that for young kids this would probably be great!

Ok, finally saw it. Um I don't know what to say. First off, in my opinion Velma was really annoying here. I didn't need her to keep trying to shove her facts down every ones throats, every time some thing unrealistic would happen it'd always be blah blah blah it's fake blah blah blah, I at times really wanted we'll never mind, I liked 90s or What's Name scooby doo? Velma better, she was more accepting of this stuff, my gosh she was driving me nuts. Did we really need another Daph / Fred subplot? It's being done to death in every new flick, last years film Daph was jealous this year Fred's jealous. Just please let them become a couple already!
This film belonged in the 80s - 90s flicks, or 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo series. It was beyond strange, we haven't had one of these flicks for the MI films so it was really wacky LOL. I liked Shaggy and Scooby a lot this film, they showed a lot of bravery when all the craziness happened. FYI, another annoying aspect of this film was how every one just had Shaggy and Scooby be bait when we had a kiss group with powers around to do it instead, yes please risk Shaggy and Scooby's lives over kiss yah know the guy's with powers? Heavens for bid Fred and the girls put there lives on the line in these types of situations.
I really liked the ending which Shaggy and Scooby wittinessed the crazy ness, darn shame Velma didn't see. She should have been driven crazy again.
Over all, meh. If I re watched it again it'd be for the ending, to me that was the best part.

I loved it just because of how bizarre it was. I do appreciate, though, that they took the creative liberties but still gave a logical (if not a little weak) explanation for an ending (ignoring the last 30 seconds). The film also gets major points for the sharp comedic writing. Yes, that led to a little more of an mature portrayal of the three leads (face it, this was a Fred/Daphne/Velma-heavy plot), but it left me in stitches at several points. Overall, this movie falls in the 75th percentile on my scale. Better than most, it was hit and miss, but it took risks, which I can respect. I also watched this at 2AM, so I may need to revisit it and re-access.

Just seen it! It was awesome! The Crimson Witch is an amazing villain but I felt it was a tad predictable. I give it 8/10!

(review moved ) FANTASTIC!!!!! The hype is real and the rock is LOUD!! I just watched this movie and loved it! Okay... so starting from the opening, I fell in love with the way they used the original animation and blend it with new style and Kiss shine. Only it was 10 minutes into the movie when Kiss show up. The animation of the movie.... Well I think -but correct me if I'm wrong- that it was different in many ways... The expressions on their faces were sometimes too... loud too bold... like classic fun cartoons, only better. And some parts looked also like.... anime. So as for the Kiss superpowers and rocking fighting: - The animation was like anime and the fighting reminded me Avatar[the last airbender/legend of korra] and Marvel heroes!
- Their powers were...SUPER DUPER ROCKING WOW! A little too much, but don't mind! I loved them!!
I was a tad bit disappointed when it all turned rational according to Velma but then..... I am sort of confused as a fan can be as to what was real and what was not, now.... Poor Frank...uh... Fred... had to seriously see Daphne going crazy with her 'darling'. As for the Demon, I'm a fan bowing, by now. He was very cool and funny!! And I especially liked the message he passed about the fears we carry inside of us. I felt proud of Shaggy and Scooby for breathing out their own fire! Plus I didn't mind his manners... As a cartoon character he is Rocking the best! Star Child was really fun too! XP [one of the scenes of him I liked: "Oops, well look, my thumb got in the way" Fred: "But... you painted it!"] [btw the gang with modern mobile phones! It might have happened again, but I just noticed now!!] The amusement park [specially the boat track Scoob and Shag got in] was so amazing I would do anything to go there if it was real!!! And those KISS bunnies were adorable!! [and tab bit creepy under the witch's spell] Further on we see another dimension of KISS. Okay... That got me a little...don't know. Yes, this is a movie about KISS, yes I do love it, yes maybe I should just 'zip it' but... this was KISS-too-much! I mean...KISS army of Brute men and women? Okay... wow! And yes... 'bucket-head' was the best description of the so called, "Destroyer".
Overall, not only the movie was one of the best I have watched so far and -certainly- most rocking, but it conveyed strong meaningful messages combined with stunningly gorgeous animation!! It's definitely worth many watches!

One of the better movies of the last 4-5 years. I enjoyed it very much, but that wasn't tough with the kick-a$$ KISS music, the cool villain and the better animation, which wasn't so childish for my tastes like in some of the past.

Fresh off my watching. I really was surprised in the direction it went but it was a really fun blast from the past. For reasons by the looks some of you aren't as familiar with the back catalog i'll explain later on in this post lol.
This is a pretty packed Scooby movie and it shows. It's nice to see name drops to two older episodes. plus chase scenes with Kiss Music. The villain design is pretty awesome.
Now let's talk about references: - First off Kiss are super heroes. Which is an ode to what Hanna Barbera did in the 70s with shows such as The Super Globetrotters and The Robonic Stooges. Basically make super powered celebrities. - We have Kiss-Teria a fantasy world with insane designing pieces. This seemed very much like what the later HB adventure shows did. (Galtar, Pirates, Wildfire) - Plus the mere fact Kiss is here and has an amusement park. Let's not forget HB was involved in the live action Kiss meets the Phantom of the Park (okay maybe some people would like to have forgotten it lol) - Velma also stays super rational in the presence of supernatural, like in Goblin King.
Other stuff: - Jonny Quest reference! - Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes as the mechanics - Kiss transformation sequence very much inspired by Sailor Moon
Admittedly the only thing that I found a bit underwhelming is the Don't Touch My Ascot song. I would have much rather heard Kiss cover one of the Scooby Doo songs.
I felt the previous one was the only one in recent years that wasn't as thrilling overall. But this one makes up for it. Scooby and Kiss rocked it.

Again, I was able to guess the villain correctly before they unmasked her. I still think I should team up with the Scooby gang at this rate!
The Quest Laboratories reference was fun.
They still didn't dedicate this to Casey Kasem! Come on, Warner Bros. Show some respect!

After watching this with my mother (who as stated in other posts was a big Kiss fan), the super powers Kiss had in this movie actually are also the same powers they had in Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park.
So looks like it was an even deeper reference than I thought.

I just picked up my copy of the movie today... it was a good movie, but not overly amazing like I was hoping for. The KISS superpowers and Crimson Witch were really cool! The songs they picked were all good...although did anyone else think that the "Shout it Out Loud" song sounded a bit off from the original version? "Detroit Rock City" fit very well into the movie! I'd say "Rock and Roll All Nite," "Shout it Out Loud" and "I Was Made for Lovin' You" were my favorites. The new song "Don't Touch My Ascot" really sucked! I was disappointed that WB hyped the new song so much, and then gave us a song that they probably took like 5 minutes to make. I was hoping that KISS would cover one of the classic Where Are You songs! I loved the reference to Quest Laboratories! The reference to the Phantom of Vazquez Castle was great too! The Daphne-Fred jealousy got annoying because they've overdone it already in the other movies. Maybe this was just me overthinking this but I thought 16-year old Daphne being in love with the 63-year old Starchild was kinda gross . It also didn't feel very much like a "Halloween movie" as WB had advertised it. So overall, a pretty good Scooby movie but not amazing. 7/10
