The hallmark of friendship is a solid part of the Scooby franchise and the studio that created him's general output. The twosome of Scooby and Shaggy no doubt being one of the greatest (if not the greatest), but in the 80s we saw Scrappy form a trio with them but after we saw them pair up a few different characters to work with Scrappy as a twosome. Mostly to let Shaggy and Scooby have some moments to themselves without always having Scrappy there with them.
So I ask, which of his four pairings do you think made the best choice?
Daphne (from the two 80s series mostly) Flim Flam (from 13 ghosts) Matches (from the latter half of Ghoul School) Googie (Reluctant Werewolf)
My pick honestly is Matches, even though we see little of it I like how the two worked together, especially that Matches originally shows up a little feisty before mellowing out a bit. Much like Scrappy did.
So what do the other Scooby Addicts think?

Personally I thought scrappy was always sort of an outliner, and that was one of the reasons he was frequently disliked. But my vote is for matches, if there was anything about ghoul school I liked it was matches.

agree with Matt the miner. scrappy was really the oddball of the group. But I'd say flim flam of the 4 listed, although like Scrappy flim flam got majorly dissed in Mystery Inc.

I don't think Scrappy stands out from the gang. He could go with anyone. The problem I have is Daphne looks out of place with Fred and Velma which is one of the reasons why I go for Shaphne.

So far seems Matches is the fave? Hmm even though that was my choice i didn't expect him to lead. But no love for Googie haha.
I was mostly talking about group pairings in terms of writing. As to me while i do like the Scooby/Shaggy/Scrappy dynamic, I think just Scooby/Shaggy works better. So I was curious the times that Scrappy did get to be apart of his own dynamic which one people thought worked best with.
Although as a subnote, I think the Scrappy part of the dynamic started working better for me when Don Messick took over his voice. Watching the Lennie Weinrib episodes now whenever i want seems to illuminate to me this more clearly then i had been going off with memory.

Flim-flam mostly, mainly because they bounced off of each other well.

Team wise, Scrappy worked best with Shaggy and Scooby. Partner wise, I don't really remember much of GS so I'll say Flim Flam though Daph did make a great mother to him in 13 Ghosts.
