As a whole, no matter which show you watch. In fact combine them (all of his personalities) all and form said opinion. Personally I never liked him, they made him too bland in the original series and too dumb in the WB versions. I'd like a happy medium to like him more, but that'll never happen

Yeah. I can see where people think he's bland and doesn't bring anything unique to the team, but the era where we didn't have him at all felt a little strange.

I like him. In the classic shows, he had that strong role of the leader and the brave one, which he still held later, but WB decided to turn Fred into a more 'naive' person, and not quite as down-to-earth as he used to be, but I didn't mind. Added more comedy to the show.

I like him with both personalities (serious and funny), just in different ways.

Yeah. I can see where people think he's bland and doesn't bring anything unique to the team, but the era where we didn't have him at all felt a little strange. I think it fit at the time, where the series took a different turn and outgrew the need for Fred and Velma. I couldn't imagine the two gone again with how WB handles things, but I wouldn't mind it happening again. --- I personally never really cared for the character, more "neutral towards him I guess. What does make Fred special though is that Frank Welker is the only cast member to continue to voice his character to this day. I wish the same could be said for Heather North or even Nicole Jaffe. I'm not sure how I'll feel about the inevitable voice change...

Fred was always one of those characters that I didn't like but I didn't hate; I was pretty indifferent to him in the original series. In The New Scooby-Doo Movies he started to get on my nerves a bit as his leadership role wasn't quite as natural as it had been and was a bit more forced. I didn't feel like he brought as much to the show as he had before, which wasn't much in the first place, to be honest. The 80's era where he and Velma disappeared was welcome for me and seemed very natural as cutting down on the characters vying for screen time helped the show and the characters. The remaining characters seemed to get closer, have a better bond and each of them went through a period of character growth. I was very disappointed when the gang reunited and, not only had Velma and Fred not taken part in any maturing themselves but had in fact regressed and taken Daphne and Shaggy with them. This did not leave me unaffected and I'd be lying if I said I still don't resent Fred and Velma's return and even their characters a bit for the direction the show has taken.
As for the original question: I was indifferent to Fred in the beginning but now I don't like him so I guess, even combining his personalities, I can't say that I actively like him.

Do you like Fred?: The old Fred, yes; the new "dumbed down" Fred, no.

I didn't like him in the first few Scooby shows, in my opinion he was a real jerk, always tricking the duo to be bait or forcing them too. Though even some times in the newer shows he does that, that's when I don't like him. If Shaggy and Scooby don't want to bait don't force them to be, do it yourself.
Over all, when the trio are mean to them I don't like them.

No. WB made Fred into a bully then just taking away his brain.
