The perfect vampire episode! The plot had me confused a bit, which is why I loved it!

I didn't think of the plot being too strong cause at first I was confused, but it was a nice episode!! Fun part was when Shag and Scoob though Fred was turned into a bat! lol! ;P

I must be a weirdo... This is one of my all-time least favorite non-Scrappy episodes of the entire franchise. It's sad that what was once my favorite animation studio that made such great Looney Tunes cartoons from the 1930s to the 1960s (like "What's Opera, Doc?" and "Bugsy and Mugsy" and more) sunk so low to making this awful excuse for a Scooby-Doo cartoon. It's not very scary, and it feels more like real life or a live-action TV episode instead of a cartoon. Even the Hex Girls, which were cool in the Witch's Ghost movie, couldn't save this, and it also felt like a rip-off of "The Great Mouse Detective" at times. It seems in this world, you either like "The Great Mouse Detective" or you like "The Vampire Strikes Back," but not both!
I remember in October 2012, I was woken up during an awful thunderstorm with a really loud thunder crash like the last one in this episode (right before Fred jumps down), but the storm didn't mysteriously come to an end like in the episode, so it was just a toss-and-turn night for me the rest of that night. If I were in Transylvania that night, I probably wouldn't have slept AT ALL.
See my knock at it here:

I love the Hex Girls and their song, although I do agree that the Hex Girls were a complete downgrade from their original appearance. The part with "Fred Bat" was funny! It was enjoyable, mainly for he Hex Girls though.

When Fred says "Eta my tire treads bridge" and everyone's' reactions! That was another problem I had with this show: the dumbed-down version of Fred. It was also just like the dumbed-down Lola Bunny on "The Looney Tunes Show." And regarding my prior post, I guess you don't like "The Great Mouse Detective," huh? (like anyone else that likes this episode does)

So last night we pretty much had a live reenactment of this episode in my city, with an awful thunderstorm that didn't stop until 1:30 AM. So... no sleep for me! Pretty much like this... And then that lead to insomnia, and mediocre performance at my job today. Another reason why this was my least favorite episode of all time. I bet the Scooby gang and the Hex Girls were all grouchy the next morning due to being unable to sleep. (And ironically they played this episode on Boomerang today! That's just adding insult to injury...) I really didn't like how "What's New Scooby-Doo" had to be like the real world instead of a Saturday morning cartoon.

Here in Greece we also had this kind of weather today...

Meh, I never understood the appeal of the Hex Girls.

Meh, I never understood the appeal of the Hex Girls. This was their worst appearance to me. All three of their voice actresses weren't even involved, so one of them had to voice both Dusk and Luna. They were much better in the Witch's Ghost (the best of the early Warner Scooby movies, IMO), and SD:MI. What made them cool there was how they were more into witchcraft and had their familiar awesome songs.

The Hex Girls had the same voice actors here as they've had in all their appearances, Jennifer Hale, Jane Wiedlin and Kimberly Brooks. Though they did change how they portrayed the girl's voices with each appearance.
It was only in non-English episodes that they had different voice actors.

I love this one, mainly because I love rain and it's one of the few that rains. Plot was good too.

Another sleepless night caused by a loud thunderstorm, so I'm posting here again!
I reference and include clips of this episode in my YouTube Poop of Disney's "The Great Mouse Detective," which is one of my favorite animated movies they did! (It seems in this world, you either like "The Great Mouse Detective" or you like "The Vampire Strikes Back," but not both!)
Hmm, if they ever do a new project with these characters (hopefully not a cheap direct-to-video sequel or something), James Arnold Taylor would probably make a good Professor Ratigan! And Frank Welker could probably be Fidget.
