One of the best Scooby episodes of all time. Doctor Coffin was a terrifying villain. The fact that it's a haunted sanitarium on a rainy night is insanely scary. One of the few true scary episodes of Scooby

Good grief this one is creepy. Echoing the praises here, but among my top favorites because it is so creepy

Again, heaping on the praise as this is my absolute favourite of the season. Probably the scariest and most horror-themed episode of the classic era. The Ghost of Dr. Coffin isn't the most unique looking monster but he may just be the most realistically terrifying. It has plenty of funny parts, of course, but the dark atmosphere is laid on so thick that you kinda forget all those moments. Just an all-time great!

Rewatched this one a year ago. It's a pretty cool premise. Suspenseful with some unique setpieces. The tone and the story really kept me engaged throughout. I wished there were more Scooby episodes that went for a darker tone.

Plot: One of the episodes I watched the most as a kid and one of the few that truly scared me. The mystery was great: from the mysterious location in Canada-US borders to the scary doctor and his backstory, everything was awesome. The doctor's experiments on humans and animals made it even creepier and made you wonder what this man has done through the years. Finally, the villain's plan was macabre but clever and, for sure, unique. PS: There were some great interactions between the gang. We don't see that often in the classic series era. 10/10
Set Up: The Sanitarium was mysterious and creepy, and the location in general created a chilling atmosphere. The rain helped a lot. 10/10
Villain: Mad doctors are scary, but the ghosts of mad doctors are even scarier. The design of the ghost was fantastic, and his maniac laugh made him creepier. The two dogs that were in the Sanitarium are proof that the real Dr. Coffin indeed experimented on animals and possibly humans, which is the most evil villain backstory in the series. 10/10
Final Score:10/10
