Yet another great episode. I remember when Greek TV aired these, they must be recorded on some old DVDs... I have saved only a few, like "The Ghost That Sacked the Quarterback" (though I just got in on original DVD through Field of Screams), "The Ozark Witch Switch" and "Creepy Cruise".

My sister's favorite episode. My sister loved this episode too when we were kids, but I think she liked "The Harum-Scarum Sanitarium" more.

Merlin was a good monster, but the Black Knight was better. I like this Black Knight better than the original.

Loads of fun, and it feels like a classic Scooby Doo Where Are You episode, since there are no real suspects around this time, and the culprit is the first person that we meet. Was also nice to see to the gang in a castle again. Merlin wasn't an especially memorable villain though. I did however like the new Black Knight's design a lot.

Funny thing is that in the Arthur legends, Merlin was one of the good guys. Why would they have his ghost be evil? They should have used the ghost of Morgan La Fey.

Funny thing is that in the Arthur legends, Merlin was one of the good guys. Why would they have his ghost be evil? They should have used the ghost of Morgan La Fey. My new theory on that is that Somehow Zarko wasn't all that familiar with the King Arthur legends. If he was, he would have been disguised as the ghost of Morgan La Fey.

This was a fun episode to watch. I think Merlin was kinda of an odd choice of a villain because he's a hero in the stories, but that doesn't ruin the episode at all. I like the Black Knight more and thought he was more terrifying than Merlin. The mystery was an easy one to solve, but was still fun to see and follow along with the clues.

Another great one! Season 1 of the Scooby Doo Show is STRONG and even if it isn't quite as good as the last two (or the next two). Loads of fun and you gotta love them going back to Zarko from the very beginning of the episode in a seemingly unrelated little skit

Plot: British and Celtic legends are yet another thing that fascinates me, so I really liked this episode. Sure, there was some stuff we were seeing a lot in early Scooby episodes (like a castle being brought to America from England brick by brick or the black knight as a villain), but it was also quite unique. The humor in this one was exelent, especially the part where Shaggy and Scooby (hypnotized) sucked at being evil. The ending was a little bit problematic, though, because there wasn't enough effort with Zarko's character, and him being the villain was out of the blue. PS: Everyone knows Daphne as the wealthy one, but considering Shaggy's relatives up until now, he must have a wealthy family too, don't you think? 10/10
Set Up: The castle checked all the boxes for a solid Scooby setting. It was creepy and mysterious, with many trap doors and secret passages. Merlin's tricks helped quite a lot. 10/10
Villain(s): I think reusing the black knight was lazy. Also, he is one of the most forgettable villains in the series. On the other hand, the Ghosts of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table were cool additions. Finally, Merlin was a unique (there are plenty of witches in the franchise, but only a few wizards) and mysterious villain. His magic tricks made him interesting, but the humor of this episode didn't let me feel like he was a threat. 8/10
Final Score:9.4/10
