I've always enjoyed The Backstage Rage. Ever since watching Goosebumps: The Dummy I've been crazy afraid of puppets but Scooby-Doo made them kind of cool. I really enjoyed watching Mr. Pietro, the doorman at the time, put on his expert puppet show for the gang. Puppets have always fascinated me, whether it's a creepy/scary fascination or that the puppet master is just really talented they're still a very interesting subject. I have to say I was a little creeped out when the doorman was revealed to be a life-size puppet; it was just so creepy but so ingenious. The theater phantom was a really interesting character and I enjoyed watching Scooby and Shaggy both dress up in the cape and hat and goof off.
I really enjoyed this episode, one of my favorites!

This is my little brother's favorite episode. It's good, but a bit too much mystery and not enough humor IMO.

Having watched this episode today, In a way I feel like this is one of the most memorable episodes even though I'm not sure I'd call it my favorite.
There are a lot of really cool and memorable parts to this episode, especially on the whole creepy puppet angle. The Puppeteers "You know my secret!" quote is one that sat in my memory for many years after seeing this episode.
The harp case secret room thing is pretty cool too. Makes me not trust harp cases lol.

Probably one of the creepiest episode of the original series. The Puppet Monster was a really, really unusually settling villain, even by this series standards. I also how it set in the gang's town, instead of them traveling around visiting another place.

This is another one of my favorite episodes of the original series. It's one of the creepier ones, too; something that the franchise since after the 70s hasn't really been able to recapture (except for some of the direct-to-video movies and "Mystery Incorporated.") IIRC, this was the first time the Scooby gang investigated and busted a counterfeiting operation. I also enjoyed Scooby pretending to play a violin ("And you never had a lesson in your life," Shaggy jokes), Scooby pretending he's a puppet, and when he and Shaggy had some dress-up fun, until the Puppet Master appears. Theater and puppetry have also fascinated me since I was a kid, so that's another reason why I love this episode.

This is one of my all time favorites! Super scary and intense. Two intense moments are when the doorman's head falls off and he's a puppet and when they're locked in. The phantom puppeteer is scary and his laugh is frightening. I also love the scene when they get locked underground

I notice that when the gang gets scared by the giant puppets, Velma clings to Shaggy rather than clinging to Fred like Daphne does.

This episode reminded some of Jerry Reed's Country Music Hall but with a quieter feeling atmospherically and darker lighting. Not my favorite episode however it is one of the more suspenseful ones. The Puppeteer is an interesting villain. Never found him scary imo.

Now this is more like it. This is one of the creepiest and most suspenseful episodes in Scooby Doo history given by how little you see the villain. You can always feel him lingering even when you can't see him, and when they go into the harp case room in my opinion it might be both the creepiest and most classic scene in Scooby's career. Although there are several that give it a run for its money in both categories. A top 5 episode of all time for me and super close to Hex as my favorite of the series

Another creepy mystery with one the scariest villain so far. I noticed recently that the laugh the villain makes from the prompter is different in Italian from English. I was quite underwhelmed when I heard the English version cuz the Italian has terrorized me since I was a child. Iām going to post the video comparison in one of the general boards soon

The villain doing a moniker of Shaggy was the creepiest part of this episode.
