I think this might be my favorite episode of the second season, and probably my second favorite episode of "Where Are You", losing only to "The Spooky Space Kook". I love the plot in this one and the surprise twist at the end. It had a great chase scene and an amazing song to accompany it! I found it hilarious that for once, Velma actually encountered the ghost with Shaggy and Scooby and believed it was real! The Headless Specter was a great villain. I really loved the haunted house setting in this one, it looked great. Daphne was also danger prone to an extent, it was hilarious! There were so many things I loved about this episode!

Penrod Stillwall certainly took initiative dressing up as a ghost in his own house. I also love how cool and creepy his get-up was compared to the real bad guy who basically just lazily threw on a sheet.

Good episode. The Headless Specter may be an uninspiring villain in design, but it was nice to see the writers trying something different with the whole "real villain" aspect. (Spoilers) It was also nice to see a villain reform for a change, although Stillwall still should have gotten a fine for disturbing the peace or something.

This one was excellent! Love the World is my favorite song. I listen to it and sing along for hours at a time.

Man, this one is so good! I love how the episode takes its time to set up the actual mystery of the headless spectre & haunted mansion. Just got to say that the cold-opening of this has got to be the creepiest of them all ... I would say that this whole episode has a considerably darker tone than anything else in Season 2. This is Scooby firing on all cylinders and even the pathetic look of the "Phony Phantom" isn't enough to drag this classic down!
Mystery: 9.5/10 Villain: 9.5/10 Setting: 10/10
Overall: 10/10

I don't think this is a perfect episode imo but it's a pretty good one. Very suspenseful, you could say it strikes a familiar feeling with GWKCTD expect it is faster-paced. The atmosphere is top-notch. (Spoiler) Seeing the outside of the mansion then zooming in with the Headless Specter's candle lit in the dark moving is one of my favorite scenes in this series. Hard episode to grade for me.
