There was one part of the movie that I didn't understand. The Goblin King was all powerful with his staff. So why did he hand it over to Krudsky so easily just to get Princess Willow back? The Goblin King could have gotten rid of Krudsky and saved the princess very easily. So why trade the staff?

I think that he was showing some genuine love for the fairy, maybe the writers thought that a sentimental scene was needed in the movie. After all, there are plenty in the other movies, aren't there?

Yeah, but for him to be all powerful, he could have shown his love and destroyed Krudsky all at the same time.

I was thinking that while I was posting the message I think! Haha! You're right about the all powerful thing though, like, he was quite merciful and meek with it all wasn't he?

He was. He just handed it over. I think it should have been more difficult to get the staff than that. I didn't like that part of the movie.

I still think he gave up the staff way too easy. There should have been more of a fight over it.

Oh I agree with you on that one. I think they did it for emotional effect but still....

True, they probably did. But I expected more of a fight than just "Oh, ok, here you go!" It was just way too easy.

Yeah! I think they wanted to portray him as a sentimental and sensible leader and at the same time send out the message that that's the way leaders ought be. Maybe?
