What did you think of Scooby Doo Camp Scare? I would put this slightly above Abracadabra-Doo as one of my favorite Scooby movies. I'll post some more thoughts after I watch it again.

I did like it. I thought the villains where cool, and I never would have guessed that (I don't remember his name) was Baby Face Barreti. Overall, it was a good movie.

I LOVED it! By far one of my favorite Scooby animated movies. I thought the monsters were scary. And the story line was quite creative and interesting. Very happy with this movie ;D

Finally got to finish it loved it. pretty scary for Scooby, got only half the mystery which is good especially since I can usually nail the whole thing early on. Liked Velma's and Fred's mini me's. and Loved the whole concept of an haunted camp in Scooby Doo, and after the movie I still do I was hoping they didn't blow it. Liked the getting to be regular triangle with Daphne, Fred and other, and all the fraphne moments that came with it. Overall I liked it as much if not more than Abracadabra, and could show it to a young child unlike Zombie Island, though this one is a bit more scary than your average Scooby-doo

Good old Zombie Island. Will always be the number one favorite scooby movie. You know what, I think camp scare comes in second for me.

Got to watch Camp Scare Wednesday but haven't had a chance to write. I don't think my review has any spoilers really, but feel free to skip it just in case. I personally don't like to know much at all about a movie until I see it.
I liked this movie too, and there were some nice twists and a good story overall. A little more complex maybe than some of the others. I liked all the villains, though sadly my favorite may've been the spectre and she was only shown for a short while. I thought Fishman was pretty cool too...much scarier than I expected considering the image of him on the DVD cover...but not too surprising considering Camp Scare was written by the same guys who wrote "The Creeping Creatures" episode of SD:MI. A few similarities there.
I thought the imagery and animation was really good too. Especially the lake and cavern scenes which I thought were great. For some reason some of the images reminded me of the Mine Your Own Business episode of WAY. And the city was a really cool place too. I found myself rewinding a lot just to look at how nice the background and "sets" looked.
And I really liked the little twist in the canyon...what I thought at first was going to be a classic Scooby nod ended up being something totally different.
Some cute humor too. I thought it was funny that Camp Little Moose was setup right under a massive dam! Looked like something off The Simpsons.
I thought the summer camp setting was kinda neat and different for a Scooby story, though I thought the daytime scenes kinda detracted from the 'spooky factor' a little. The place only seemed spooky at night, and a little too sunny and happy during the daytime, though those scenes did make a great setting for the more humorous scenes. I personally lean more towards the 'spooky/mystery' aspect of Scooby though, and I thought the movie seemed to go on awhile before it started feeling mysterious. And then at daybreak it would sorta lose it again. That's one nice thing about using an old castle or some other inherently creepy location for the setting...even during the lighthearted moments of the movie there's still a certain spooky undercurrent going on, like anything could happen at any moment. But that's just me.
On the plus side though it allowed for a wide variety of locales...canyons, spooky woods, the lake and caverns.
I also liked a lot of the other characters, especially the old man who ran the museum. And did anyone think the Woodsman's voice sounded a little like the voice of Mr. E there towards the end? As in maybe the same voice actor? Will have to check. Thought it was neat that Velma had an admirer too.
Will have to watch it again soon.
Mark
