I have to say, this was a good episode and a great way to begin the 3 part series finale.
When Fred, Daphne and Velma were in the Mystery Machine and it blew up, I honestly felt like everybody else. I was thinking "Oh no, don't tell me they were in the van and didn't get out", but then of course Fred and the girls pulled the old switcheroo and they were safe.
Looking forward to tomorrow and the final two episodes of the series.

Sadly. THIS IS ALL UNADVERTISED. Where's the big deal about a Scooby Series Finale? Nothin!

OK, it's official. This is probably the most violent Scooby-Doo series ever produced! Maybe Cartoon Network also doesn't really like the show because of all the violence and destruction that has begun to increase since the middle of the first season? (I even found a bad review online of "The Wild Brood," which was criticizing it for being too violent.) And they still let it be TV-Y7-FV. At this rate, we'll have people swearing on TV-G animated shows as well! (I even once dreamed about seeing an episode of SD:MI that had Shaggy say "What the hell?" at one part.)

I'm afraid that the "Dog" who dies might be Hot Dog Water, since everyone is expecting Nova it would be a shocker. Her nickname might be more clever than just a joke. But maybe they'll be able to avoid the Dog prediction by stopping Pericles's plan. It won't be Hot Dog Water since the revelation is that the team's animal mascot will die. HDW is quite human, though her body odor would lead otherwise. From what I gather, CN is burning off the episodes like they did last July/August because the show's been getting low ratings. Once today's final two episodes air, it's off the schedule completely.

TV-Y7-FV It means it's designed for older kids and may contain fantasy violence that is stronger than in some other shows. Scooby shot down a bunch of robots in this episode, the townsfolk helped, and the Mystery Machine blew up. That is completely within the guidelines for TV-Y7-FV. In fact here is the description of TV-Y7-FV taken from www.parentstv.org/PTC/parentsguide/tvratings2.html : Directed to Older Children-Fantasy Violence For those programs where fantasy violence may be more intense or more combative than other programs in the TV-Y7 category, such programs will be designated TV-Y7-FV.
What you need to know: A TV-Y7-FV rating indicates a program that may contain some of all of the following characteristics: violence as a prevalent feature of the program; fighting presented in an exciting-even thrilling-way; villains and superheros valued for their combat abilities; violent acts glorified; and violence depicted as an acceptable and even effective solution to a problem. Fantasy violence may be part of an animated cartoon, a live-action show, or a program that combines both animation and live-action.That fits exactly with Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. Even the episode The Wild Brood fits within those guidelines. Having a dream about Shaggy saying "What the hell" is not the same as Shaggy actually saying "What the hell."

Really great episode. R.I.P. Mystery Machine. I loved the Search for Spock quote (more or less) right afterward. I can't believe the show is going to be over with this afternoon. I think I'd like for the kids to have said something to their parents/ the townspeople before going into the cavern, but that's a minor nitpick.

Oh. My. Gosh. are the three words that describe this episode!!!!! I LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!! I loved how not only Shaggy, but Sheriff Stone, are becoming more courageous in this episode. I loved how Fred finally told Daphne that he loved her. This episode runs the full emotional gamut. My favorite part was Scooby's vow to get Pericles. Hopefully, Ricky might actually help the good guys now that he knows what Pericles did to Cassidy. Overall, a powerful episode and I can't wait to see the ending tonight!!!!!
