This was a great Scooby film. It was a bit sillier and more light-hearted than its predecessors, yet still worked wonderfully thanks to the brilliant art design and voice work. Mary Kay Bergman was outstanding in her final performance as Daphne. The plot was certainly interesting and entertaining. "How Groovy" was an excellent song and scene that I just loved!

It was a great movie. The theme of aliens has always appealed to me, and I'd like to see a new DTV with aliens.

The How Groovy part had me cracking up. I dunno why people think shaggy having a girlfriend is strange, he's the only one of the gang willing to be in a committed relationship.

Is it bad that I always see Daphne in Crystal's place? If I were an animator, or just had better art skills in general since I have basic animation knowledge, I'd totally animate those scenes with Daphne instead of Crystal.

well i dont think Sophia we've ever had a Daphne Shaggy relationship in a series, unless you consider them as a couple in the scrappy era series, which I dont.

The fact that this was Mary Kay Bergman's last go-round as Daphne makes it a must watch for me. I honestly think she's one of the best VA's for the character and it's sad that she's no longer around. Onto the movie! ARG! There Be Spoilers Ahead!I honestly loved this movie and truly didn't know this many people disliked it until I signed up here. The movie starts off with a creepy alien-encounter that no one can explain and damages the gangs van so they're stranded. Classic Scooby-Doo right there. The fact that Daphne, Fred and Velma split off from Scooby and Shaggy in order to get help and Shaggy and Scooby have their first creepy encounter with "aliens" is also another classic-Scooby moment that I just can't ignore. Lester, Dottie and Sergio make for suspicious yet helpful characters and, just like with previous WB movies, you like them but you're wary. (They remind me of the Oakhaven townsfolk - restaurant owner, mayor and pharmacist.) Buck's character and VA are genius and he reminds me of Beau in that he's the perfect suspect for the strange goings-on...too perfect. Max reminds me of Jacques in that he's super nice and jovial and you don't really suspect him of doing anything wrong but, after Zombie Island, that instantly makes me suspicious. (Especially after meeting Steve and Laura who, in turn, put me in mind of Simone and Lena.) At this point I'm not really paying much mind to Crystal and Amber. They just seem like flaky love-interest characters and you don't really suspect them of much but, as Lester so aptly put it: "alien mind-control", haha. Scooby and Shaggy's one-on-one aboard the alien craft makes you pretty afraid for them and is also reminiscent of past Scooby-media where Scooby and Shaggy are the main ones who get up close and personal with the bad guys - another classic trope. You could tell by the groovy track and classic chase that WB is trying to recreate Zombie Island a bit and that makes me happy. Then Steve, Laura, Max and the MPs have our precious Scooby-gang and we're officially afraid for them until Crystal and Amber come to save the day. Overall I don't really think much of them, especially since I'm a hardcore Shaphne-shipper but I'm glad they were there for the gang. The ending in which Scooby and the gang are the only ones who will ever truly know what went on and the bad guys are taken away all seem like true blue Scooby-moments but then there's a problem: Scooby and Shaggy are completely crushed...but that's nothing that can't be fixed with a box of Scooby-Snacks! I really, really enjoyed this movie - way more than I enjoyed Cyber Chase - especially since it seems as though its main purpose is to act as a big nod to Zombie Island and Witch's Ghost. The only thing I didn't like about this flick is that it seems to be the launching platform for Scooby-Doo to regress from the more serious nature of the previous two movies and back into the likes of Cyber Chase, What's New and Mystery Inc.

Going back and seeing my answer, I think I want to change it. As I've seen it more, I've really enjoyed this one and thought it was one of the better Scooby films. (I think the reason for my so-so review back in 2009 was because I felt the other 3 1998-2001 DTVs were much better and sort of overshadowed this one because I didn't feel the mystery was as strong in this movie.)

I love this one too. It's the top of my B heap and certainly worth frequent watching.
About all I don't really like to turn into often are Samurai Sword, Pirates Ahoy, and the Mexico one.
Once in a while for them is fine.
Arabian Nights is a Oh Hell No!!!

I feel the same way. She was just amazing as the character. I know she would've made me fall in love with the character in recent incarnations despite regressing from her ore mature role. She was an excellent successor to Heather North, DeLisle is a complete disaster in comparison. The movie itself is also very well-done. It has excellent pacing, writing, voice acting, and art design. Plus, I love "Groovy"!

Agreed! It really was an awesome movie and I believe it honestly has a better re-watch value than Witch's Ghost. In fact I feel like Witch's Ghost only has the slightest edge over Alien Invaders, if that. I'm so biased that it's hard for me to let my love of Tress MacNeille as Sarah go and judge both movies purely on principle and quality. Overall, Alien Invaders got watched in my house way more than Witch's Ghost.
